It makes perfect sense, too. Someone who knows Mac well and has had success in a wide-open offensive system with Mac's blessing...its the guy we have been trying to find for five years now to lead our team...

For the umpteenth time, the offense is not a OC problem. Whoever comes in to replace Canales will have identical numbers and identical problems. Everything here is a Dan Mccarney problem.

Nobody said it was--just expressing my view (sarcastic as it may be) that Mac will replace Chico with someone he knows very well to run his Wing-T 1970 offense, but can be sold to the general public as a wide-open OC...

Since the talk of Mike Leach on another thread and former QB's on this thread, why not Graham Harrell?

He set records for Leach, and is currently a coach under him at Washington St.

Would be interesting to see if he could bring the same sort of system. I mean, look at Kingsbury, played for Leach, OC under Sumlin, and now HC of Tech, who last time I checked, still puts up crazy offensive numbers with a pretty damn good young quarterback in Mahomes

Realistically, if Chico was replaced, it would be with Quartaro. He is not only our assistant head coach and tight ends coach, but also an Iowa Hawkeye letterman.

Problem is.... Canales is going to get the boot for a problem that probably shouldn't have been on him.

You know, I recall there was a time when I thought the "Grand Plan" when Mac was hired was to right the ship, dust it off, and in due course hand it off to Coach Chico when he retired. This was because we thought after he demonstrated what he could do, some thought Coach Chico was ready for the job THEN.

Am I exhibiting symptoms of Alzheimer's? Am I just full of it?

Mcarny doesn't control the offensive playbook....
