Pulled within 5, middle of the 4th against the 3rd ranked team in the nation...not bad for a team that finished 1-11 a little over 9 months ago.

Morris has got these guys playing well.  SMU played well against Baylor and TCU.  If we did the same against Iowa and Tennessee, I'm sure we would all be ecstatic

Yet someone like Arkansas State doesn't have SMU money and they went from Hugh Freeze to Guz Malzahn, Bryan Harsin to now Blake Anderson who went to a bowl game last year and won in his first year as head coach.  While money is important the idea that you need money to make good hires and slowly but surely elevate your program and profile is absolutely false.

I'm not sure about Anderson, but ASU's previous 2 coaches made >$1mil per year.
