Don't know why you were getting -1'ed, so I +1'ed you.

To answer the question, nothing would make me happier than McNulty ripping off an all conference run from here on out.

Do I have my doubts about him? Yes.  Would I love to be proven wrong? YES.

Do I have my doubts about Coach Mac? Yes.  Would I love to be proven wrong? YES.

Do I have my doubts about the AD? Yes.  Would I love to be proven wrong? YES.

I just want to win, I don't care about being right.  I'll gladly be wrong to WIN.

This post deserves a truck load of up-votes. Well said.

Just put together a winning team.  I could care less about style points.

I guess what I'm getting at is it seems like people want him to fail now just to see Smith. They dont really want to see him do good or have an above avg game, bc that would mean the leash gets longer. I really dont know what its going to take for McCarney to pull McNulty. I really dont want to see Greer. The only way we get to see Smith is if there is an epic failure through multiple games. I just dont see Mac going through what we went through last year.

I guess the question made it seem like I'm a believer in him. I'm not. I will wait for him to prove me wrong, but I'm rooting for him to prove me wrong. Im not rooting for him to fail just to see Smith. That would mean Im rooting for NT to lose and losing is not acceptable.

I think a lot of us just believe that having that type of game is just beyond McNulty's talent level.

I mean, he is a 5th year senior. Has he EVER had that type of game? Past performance is a predictor of future performance at this point in his career.

So what happens if McNulty comes out and throws for 250 yards 2 TDs and no INTs and NT still loses? Would yall be mad about having to see another week of McNulty?

The general flow of the offense would be the determination. I walked out of the spring game very, very unimpressed with his 340 yards. So...that just depends.

I like and respect Vito, but I read no logical rational for predicting a North Texas win. I hope Brett knows something we don't.

We really need a win. A loss would probably mean an 0-4 start after a tough 2 week road trip at Southern Miss and Iowa. No North Texas fan wants to see an 0-4 Mean Green team struggle with the #19 FCS program Portland State. Plus that Apogee advantage would look like a bad joke.

This weekend Mac and the coaches need to prove to the fans that they have solved the issues on offense or in a few weeks, this season, and possibly some jobs could be in jeopardy.

UNT wins 31-27. Special teams carries the day along with a defensive TD. Rice didn't protect the ball last week and will play too conservative. No way they are better at playing conservative than UNT....

I realize that this is based loosely on fact, but the truth doesn't have any place in a healthy relationship!

What happens if 200 of those yards and both TDs come in the 4th against Rice's 2nd and 3rd string when the game is already out of hand?  Would you be mad that no other QBs got a look?

Playing Devils advocate here, maybe SMU was better than they are given credit for? Rice stood toe to toe with a bad Texas and lost by a couple TDs. SMU stood tough for a while against a team in contention for a National Championship.

We'll see what this team is made of Saturday.

I would. It goes back to Harry's thoughts about when are you going to start preparing for the future instead of trying to develop a 5th year SR that still can't read defenses. Does the team respect McNulty that much that they view a different QB coming in as a lost season? Is McNulty that much better than Smith? Because all those things that Vito said Smith can't do well from his days at WKU are the same things McNulty can't do either. McNulty can't read a defense, can't fit it in tight windows, can't throw guys open.

Lets just roll Chumley out there and run read option all day long. Tim Tebow offense.

But your so called National Championship contender was losing to Lamar last week too.

I agree with you though I'm not convinced with Rice's production so far. Wagner and a Texas team that even we could run on. I'm interested to see Saturday if they are for real.

I heard we moved McNair to QB in hopes his distant cousins uncle McNair's ability at QB rises up with him.

I was willing to give him a chance and he played horrible. It didnt look as bad as greer at UT, but he played scared.  He choked.  Horrible reads, bad throws, and the runs were there.  He could have run several times.

Don't forget that #5 looked just as bad or worse in that UT game. They had very similar stat lines. Hard to believe but Greer was a RS sophomore that had been in the program 9 months while #5 was a RS junior who had been in the program 3 full years. I'd be willing to give JG another chance since he has been in the program for a year and 9 months now plus he won't be put up against a Charlie Strong defense in his first game. I mean, how much worse could Greer really be with another year under his belt against a less aggressive and less talented defenses. I think the UT game scared the shit out of him and he couldn't get it together. Maybe he has gotten over it? I'd rather see Smith but I will tae what I can get at this point. At least JG will be here next year so we could at least pass it off as building for the future.

This.  Rather see greer.  I'm sure chico would too.  At least let chico go out on his  own terms, with his guy.

And the faster we get to greer, the faster we get to smith...

If UNT does indeed pull the stunner over Rice, I will personally pledge enough funds to @TheTastyGreek's sandwich campaign to upgrade the soft drink from regular to large.  That's right.  I'm putting it in writing.  One soft drink upgrade, personally financed by yours truly if UNT beats Rice.

Let's all thank Mr. @oldguystudent and also remember to give thanks to the one who cultivated this massive gift, @TheTastyGreek.

Thank you sir.

With this growing list of donors, perhaps we could have regular council meetings about the future of this project? As someone who has also pledged a significant amount of the total (just FYI gang - $1.25), I'd like to really make sure we stay aligned. Maybe everyone who gives a quarter could have regular meetings with leadership. What should we call those?

Two Bit Social Club?  No, sounds too SMU.  Semi Bi-Annual Meetings?  Not quite right.... Quarter Club Meetings?  No... I feel like the correct term is right there though...

We could then hand it over to the athletic department and watch minimal growth over a 15 year span. RV would make for a fine stock broker, if someone could live to be about 500 years old.
