anybody care which two people helped cultivate this gift?  Or would it be too much to give one of them props?

Just sayin.....

The last time I worked at Linda's house I was wearing a North Texas polo and my ring.  Quit trying to steal my shine.

Good for Jim....he obviously likes the direction of the athletic dept. or he would not have done this.

Is it safe to assume this is the game changer that RV mentioned?

This is a tremendous start, and very generous by the McNatt family.  I am hoping it is the first of several pieces of good news coming out of the athletic program.  We need it.

Meh.

This is an outstanding thing that Mr. McNatt and his wife have chosen to do. RV did a good job did a good job bringing this in. However, imagine what could be if we put together a winning program. How many future Mr. McNatt's are currently swimming adrift as an alum or future alum? We may very well never know because we aren't taking athletics near serious enough. A quality program could EASILY quadruple MGC membership and increase attendance  (revenue) substantially. We have to win. The AD in place has employed too many losers. In hand, this AD has turned into a loser. It is not rocket science to figure this out.

Again, a big thank you goes out to the McNatt's.

I bought my first car (well first one I didn't buy from my parents) from one of his dealerships in 2005, I assume that sealed the deal?

The first new car the wife and I bought was from McNatt in 1997.   I don't want to take too much credit...

Or does this make up for the missing sixth home game.

no, it does not.

It also doesn't make up for the terrible record we will have this year while playing easily the toughest schedule in our conference.

Yes, I know your comment was tongue in cheek.

This one is not.

A very heartfelt thanks to the McNatts.

I'm betting you're onto something.

I remember seeing some fundraising literature that listed the price of the Stadium rights at $20M and the field at $5M, so unless Mr. McNatt got some special year end closeout dealer financing loyalty program overstock deal it's probably not that.

I'm more than happy to share the spotlight with you. It's this kind of teaming that is really going to move this university forward!

A theory because hope is fun.

Maybe back in 2004 as @Cerebus rightly pointed out, RV realized that he didn't have the staff or budget to get to 3,000 MGC members. He looked at it and said everybody we call just says, well if you ever get serious I'll join.

So his new unannounced plan was, go after the big donors and show people we are serious. It's easier to convince 15 millionaires to be wined and dined by RV because he is a nice guy, and then get them to cough up some big money for their old Alma Mater. And now that that has happened several times, and facilities are in place, now we'll go after the 2,000 MGC members.
