I figured the chances of swapping QBs were very low. Can't see Danny Mac wanting a repeat of last year's farce at the position. Remember McNulty averaged an interception per game after he took the starting job, so it's not like he gets yanked for tossing picks.

It makes you wonder how the QBs are evaluated. Is McNulty up because he commits fewer TOs in practice? Is it because he stays in the pocket more? And if so, then it becomes a matter of evaluating prospective QB talent and if the coaches are able to properly use it. I'm guessing it's all of the above.

Yeah. I figure it's a nebulous 'command of the offense' thing.

Like I mentioned before, pre-snap, McNulty looks great, leads the line, communicates plays. What happens after the snap, however, is a different story.

Yeah. Which is only half of what I consider command of the offense. The other part is hitting open dudes after they ball is snapped.

Lil Mac could not read the defense to save his life. He looked horrible from the start. The problem was the score. We were so close for too long. Regardless, I would have pulled him at half and gave someone else a shot. The coaches better be on his ass all week making sure it does not happen again.

It will. It will only be worse because Rice is twice the team SMU is.

Exactly. I guess what I mean is, until someone can step up and be able to handle the pre-snap process no matter the difference in results after the snap, are we SOL?

I'm pretty worried about every game on the schedule after the SMU game. I know the defense and special teams units will be on-point every play but I'm really worried that they won't be able to put enough points on the board on their own to win. I'm also worried that the offense won't be able to capitalize on opportunities given by those two units.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the position coaches meeting to hear the rationale of why McNulty is supposedlying the guy. We've also lost multiple QBs who were suppose to be our guy. I would like to hear their take of what is wrong with this team. Because something is going on here that no one is talking about publicly.
