The staff failure to recruit, develop, or give opportunities to QB talent has to noticed now.  We have a senior starting QB that throws 3 Int for every 2 TD he throws yet they tell us he is the best option we have.  If that is the case they that QB should be a very temporary option else there should not be any quarterbacks on scholarship for the team.  It doesn't make me mad when we loose only when we look like garbage on the road in on the very few opportunities we get to showcase our school.  I think true UNT fans are pragmatic for the most part but we have a limit.  Looking noncompetitive against a SMU team that will be lucky to finish 5W & 7L this year is flirting with it.  I should left the game at halftime.  And to top it all off my support of the team was rewarded with my car being broken into at the Dart rail station.  I am sure McNulty is a great person and I am proud that he is an alumni.  But being a good dude, great alumni, and hard worker doesn't qualify you to be a starting QB at a  FBS school, else I would have went out for the team to play quarterback when I was there.  There is too much local talent sitting on the benches of Baylor, UT, Texas, A&M, TCU, Oklahoma, and OSU for our team to look like that.  UNT fans should never feel like we have no chance to win a game before halftime unless we are playing top end power 5 conference schools.

We all saw what a quarterback with talent can do on his own when a defense does their job. Davis singlehandedly won that game for SMU with his running ability. When AMac was pressured, what did he do? Overthrew, underthrew or threw into double overage. No running ability, whatsoever. He is exposed and will continue to be exposed because it was obvious smu did not respect the passing game, or McNulty's ability to make a play. Rice will do the same thing and so will every other team we play. Yes, it is going to be a long year, but maybe one that is needed so that heads can role. It is the only thing that will effect change at UNT.

I thought Bean was our MLB?  I thought he seemed to hold his own in the middle, but definitely was a step slow when asked to get outside.  He had a huge play on forcing the Davis fumble at the goal line.  I agree that none of our LBs were a match for Davis.

I said earlier this week that Bean or Wallace shouldn't step on the field in this game. Put the most athletic LB's on the field. I don't even think I saw Minor or Ellis in the game. If they were it was minimal. Those should have been the spy guys and that should have been their primary responsibility. This game should have been in 3-3-5 to be honest. One of those DB's should have been the spy. We should have dime'd them to death. I am not going to harp on D too much though. They held tough and held SMU in check until the 4th when our O started putting the ball into the hands of SMU's defense twice or going 3 and out.

They just flat out ran out of gas. They did everything pretty well for three quarters other than score for the Offense.

More of a reason to why Minor AND Ellis should have been on the field in the 4th. We very well may be sitting here typing a different story. Putting in fresh bodies that can tackle pretty well and are fast would have or at least could have hemmed that backyard scrambling up. We needed more A gap blitzes on 3rd down as well. Too many times Davis had time to sit there on 3rd down and scan the field and then make a decision which direction he was going to go. If Davis gets hurt they are going to be really, really bad. Through and through, we have better personnel than they do, but their QB is about 10x better than ours and that was THE difference.

also missing was Syd Moore.  Jamal marshall didn't play...I though for sure we would see him with buyers hurt.
