MeanMag Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Our defense deserves a round of applause. They did a great job.any thoughts on McNulty? I gave the guy a chance and it's just hard to see him give the offense the tick they need. I'm kind if disappointed in his performance....Go Mean Green!Defense was okay. They made some stops and forced some turnovers which is awesome, but the LBs looked like they were stuck in mud against Matt Davis, even before they were winded at the end of the game. It was only a matter of time before he wore their asses out.The turnovers will not be there all the time, and especially not against better competition. We are slow on D. Any dual threat QB is going to give us problems.
cdizzle86 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 I gave him an honest chance to prove he's the guy and he did absolutely nothing. A good coaching staff knows when to fold em and this is the time. You put Damarcus in because he's our future. He will make mistakes but I'd rather him make them now then later in the season when it's too late. If McNulty starts next game I guarantee I will not be driving from Austin to Denton to see this team play. Sorry but we've been down this road far too often and nothing changes. We got lucky in 2013 but that won't happen again if this coaching staff doesn't learn to roll the dice. 5
MeanGreen13 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 We need to bribe someone from Louisville's AD office to come take over at NT. Louisville. though the football team is struggling early on, is a legitimate program and has several sports on men and women's sides that are consistently nationally ranked. We need someone that has done good things at a good place. I would beg Tom jurich to help me find a AD that has some sort of vision for a program. jurich has been at Louisville a few years longer than RV has been at NT and he has taken Louisville from CUSA to the ACC and the improvements in facilities and community involvement (though this has never been an issue in Louisville KY) has been unbelievable. Just announced a 55 million expansion of the training facilities and footbal stadium concurrent with the building of an academic center on the other side of the stadium. We need to either have a leader that is capable of taking us there or give up and play FCS footbal for schlitz and giggles. There can be no in between in this day and age.
UNTGuy5 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Horrible play by a "d1" QB. I'd rather watch a monkey humping a doorknob than the crap we had running the offense tonight. 4
Andrew Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Horrible play by a "d1" QB. I'd rather watch a monkey humping a doorknob than the crap we had running the offense tonight. maybe this can be something new. I rather______ than watch mcnutly play QB. 1
foutsrouts Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 the nepotism argument is the dumbest thing the whole lot of you have ever come up with and advanced...and I've read a lot of dumb here. Mac has seemingly gone out of his way for the past three seasons to find someone better.he's apparently failed at that task...and that in and of itself is near cause enough for his termination. Please. If they had no connection AM would likely simply be a student in Iowa City or somewhere right now. Denial can only be taken so far. 5

Eagle-96 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 McNulty would make a decent FCS quarterback where corners are a step slower and he can actually outrun some defensive lineman. But he's not even a bad FBS quarterback. There's not even one area where he is proficient. He locks in on targets. He overthrows receivers like he's playing with a five yard crown on the field. He runs like Frankenstein while trying to elude D-lineman. His idea of progression is to hurriedly skip the ball at the feet of his 2nd option. I mean what does he do that is even AVERAGE? Get ready for 11 straight weeks of nut shots. 4
Rudy Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Horrible play by a "d1" QB. I'd rather watch a monkey humping a doorknob than the crap we had running the offense tonight. at least that would result in a happy ending. 2
North Texas Shep Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 So who was it arguing with me about McNulty being the best QB based on some mystery practice they showed up to? There's no way, he can barely get the ball out to a 5 yard stop route before the crap SMU corners dang near pick 6'd it. I think Harris and Jimmy said something Mac didn't like and got suspended a quarter because they know who the best QB is and it's not hard to see. (Oh BTW I'm not normally a conspiracy type guy) that was fun to make up. It was me. It was not a mystery. They had a scrimage the same day as a donor thing I went to for work. He was the best option there. He made the right choices and read the defense. I was not arguing. Just telling you what I saw with my two eyes. However, he played like shit tonight. Did nothing right. Should have pulled him. God he sucked so bad. 4
cdizzle86 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 I'd rather read your opinions on basketball than watch McNulty play QB. I'd rather watch Evyn "the hair" Roman return a punt than watch McNulty play QB. 2 1

MeanGreen13 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 I just realized that our fastest LBs dont play... Ellis and Minor, who are the longest lbs as well are 3rd string all of a sudden. Bean looked good at first but was winded in the 2nd half and stayed in too long. his back up is generally slow, and Fred looked good sometimes and got worked others. Finney is a sure tackler. even when he got eat, he still made the tackle. 2
UNT90 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 During McNulty's first four years he's thrown 11 touchdown passes: six were to his own team and five have been to the opposition. What again is Einstein's definition of insanity?Seriously, last years UT game was a wake-up call of biblical proportions that North Texas doesn't have anybody capable of playing quarterback at the college level. The Mean Green then pitifully limped through the 2014 season, losing in embarrassing fashion to teams that they had destroyed the previous season. The North Texas coaching staff has had a full year to address the glaring deficiency. How was it fixed? It wasn't.RV has had 3 years to address this dreadful schedule. Subordinates follow leader's examples. That is EXACTLY what has happened here. 2
untjim1995 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 I'd rather read your opinions on basketball than watch McNulty play QB. they are both equally absurd... 1

How was it fixed? It wasn't.to expect that any decent throwing QB in Texas HS football will even look to come here is laughable. Look at the ridiculous offense we run, then look at who the coach believes in as the best option for the team--who probably wouldn't beat out 95% of Texas HS senior QBs right now, and then see how he "executes" and you'll see that there is no chance we will get a decent QB here. The last two QBs we have gotten are jucos, who obviously cannot play (Greer) or won't be given a chance because he's no busdriver (D.Smith). 1
Eagle-96 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) I would rather watch Damon West rob an uptown apartment than watch McNulty play QB Edited September 13, 2015 by Eagle-96 2
meanrob Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 We've rolled out Green and McNulty the past two years as game one starters. Speechless. 1
untjim1995 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 We've rolled out Green and McNulty the past two years as game one starters. Speechless. without a doubt, the QBs at Denton Ryan, Denton Guyer, and Denton High are at least as talented as McNulty, but probably waaayyyy better, no matter what grade they are in.
Cerebus Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 I'm going to close this because I don't think dumping all this vitriol on one of our fellow alums is proper. How about the employee we pay 800k a year to run this football program, or his boss, which we pay 300k a year to make hires like Mac, Benford, dodge, and about 20 different women's bb coaches that crashed and burned. 9 2
