Perhaps the best example of this was when Matt Davis went out with cramps against Baylor. When backup quarterback Darrel Colbert went in, he was able to effectively run the offense. He looked as prepared out there as the starter, something that couldn’t be said about SMU’s quarterbacks in the past.

Darrel Colbert 0/1 for 0 yards passing 0 tds 0 int.

Oh but he ran some...

"Most importantly, SMU is going to have a different home-field advantage than it has had in years. Against Baylor, SMU’s students showed out and so did the alumni. The fans stayed late and were energized by the team’s performance. This should mean an even stronger showing from the SMU faithful on Saturday as the fan base has been waiting for something to cheer for for a long time.

The environment and SMU’s five-man defensive secondary will cause issues for UNT quarterback Andrew McNulty and SMU’s offense will be able to outperform UNT’s."

The environment?  I bet there are AS MANY UNT fans there as there will be SMU fans (not just onlookers).  We will bring more people to the game than your average game attendance in years of late.  Our band and student section will be vastly louder than your own and you won't know that you are in your own stadium.

I'm not sure how this game pans out but anyone who touts the "environment" at SMU being hostile and potentially affecting the game in SMU's favor is on heroin.

amen...the atmosphere is the last thing in the world that will get to this team.  Oline not gelling, getting beaten deep, turnovers...that is what I am worried about.  Certainly not crowd noise when we're on offense.  It will be a boost to our boys when they sea all that green on the road!
