That is great to hear considering I remember reports of things being very different when we visited there for the 1AA playoffs years ago.  I hope people have the same experience at Apogee.

That's great.  We all must do our part to represent NT well.  Good to see the Marshall fans do so for their university.

I walked around the campus this past summer in my UNT shirt, no problems.

I flew with the team in 1988 for that 0-7 loss in 1AA playoff game in Marshall. Before kickoff their fans were very friendly, offering food and beer while they tailgated. It was a hard fought game, and at the end a fight started between fans that rolled over onto the field. By the time it ended, both teams [and I mean every player] were involved. As we boarded our bus we were pelted with cans and other objects. When we arrived at the airport the police were checking our plane for a bomb that was reported to be on board. My impression of Huntington is there is a lot of inbreeding among its residents.

To add to Wardly's story, we had a Mean Green fan with us on the trip who was handicapped and in a wheelchair.  The Marshall fans knocked him over onto the ground after the game.  We had a police escort out of town with many of the locals hanging from the fences shooting us the bird, etc.  It was a really scary trip.  I was told later that they opened up the parking lot of the stadium at 8am for a 2pm kickoff, so everyone was pretty juiced up by 2.  I went to use one of the porta potties during the game and walked on nothing but discarded beer cans from the stadium to the crapper..such a nice trip.  The fans got into it with one of our players during the game and police were called into our section to restore order.  Hopefully things have changed a great deal since 1988.

Thats awesome to hear about fans like this. Marshal fans are the complete opposite of the Trash they have down at UTSA
