UNT 2015 Depth Chart Released

My two cents:

- Goree over Kidsey is interesting

- Pretty excited about the prospect of our defense (on paper anyway)

- We're deep at linebacker

- We still need a defensive playmaker or two to rise out of the bunch

- James Gray could be that guy

- Kenny Buyers always has and always will make me nervous in coverage but sets a good edge on the run

- As deep at skill positions as we are at linebacker

- Doesn't matter if we can't get the ball in their hands

- Biggest questions are the o-line and the QB

- Glad Whitfield is back

No really huge surprises, but still a few things that have me thinking. Zac Whitfield made it straight back into the two deep. I am not seeing Connor Trussel anywhere, same for John Schilleci. Garner immediately up for a starting spot.

The Periscope videos only show a small sampling, but Trussel seemed to be struggling in the clips I saw.  Hope he continues to improve and is able to get on the field.

Brandon Garner, Tee, Chris Miles, Kishawn Mcclain, Jeffery Wilson all starting from the 2014 class that keeps on giving. Nice!

I thought you were not too high on Garner coming out of H.S. Billy...  or maybe I'm not thinking of the right poster.

If you weren't, have you heard much about him that changes your mind now?  Or is he just as surprising to you as he is to the rest of us?

Couple of additional thoughts.

Nice to see Malik Dilonga get the starting nod, but somewhat surprising he edged out Tillman Johnson.  At 6-4, 265 I like his size.  There are a lot of d-linemen not on this list who will play.  Same with receiver and linebacker.

The tight end tandem of Smith and Loving may be the best combo we have had talent wise since I can remember.

I'm shocked not to see Sid Moore's name on there.

This "Feels" like a deep team...other than o-line but even there you have some numbers.

The way I look at it Dilonga will provide more support against the run in the early downs. Johnson, Polk, Combs those are the pass rush specialist.

Loving and Smith are tough matchups.

Once we get in the red zone. I'm immediately getting Loving. Smith, Rutherford, and Goree on the field. McNulty can have his pick of jump ball

This group of skill position guys excluding WR is the deepest and best since Macs arrival.
