Cougar King, I would wait till you get past Tennessee Tech. Two P-5 teams have been beaten by FCS teams. Sure they are the cellar teams of those conferences but it isn't like U of H is a blue blood either! The entire town of Houston has a culture of losing. You have had some great teams who have gotten close though...
 

Before you say the Rockets, I could care less about the NBA.

We're steamrolling Tennessee Tech 52-17 in front of about 35k because unlike UNT, we have a coach who knows what hes doing, a solid starting qb and fans that will show up.

I wish I had a solid comeback, but I am not sure we have a solid QB... We do have better looking women though!

Our QBs situation is ridiculous and not worth mentioning until they sh$t the bed again. I will take Denton and the girls there over that scary part of Houston too. Cougar King is young so he shouldn't turn down nothing but his collar. I'd rather he get out there and troll for the stragglers at the bar than belittle our team but he won't listen. He's on here when he should be out destroying it. I know I'm about 3 hours from destroying it myself.

You weren't saying any of this when UTSA was thrashing y'all. And you didn't give any credit when UNT steamrolled SMU last year and they are FBS. I won't brag about steamrolling an FCS school like we did last year because it's pointless. Come on son! You are a high level troll. You're better than this post.

Actually I was still at the game when I made the previous post. Also, you should know that when trolling you make up the rules as you go.

Come on son! You can't be o the internet at a game! There's a real world out there!!! I like that you were thinking of us though...

No touching.   Until we see our boys on the field and see what we have this year, I don't see anything in our future for the year that screams Don't Worry, Be Happy.

Portland St. just beat a P5 at the P5's house. Yes, it's Wash St., but it still should scare you. 

 

What chance would you give UNT playing at Washington St.?

There were some of you that were using a non competitive game excuse.  Well, now you ave ZERO excuse for not buying a ticket and showing up to homecoming.

Shhhhhhhhhhh......don't burst their "all bad all the time" bubbles.  You don't understand.  You burst this bubble they will just have to work that much harder to come up with a new excuse as to why they won't support the Mean Green.

meh. I'm a single issue poster.

Anyone who thinks 14 years as AD with the lack of progress we have had on the field and court, and doesn't want change is apathetic by definition.

      Opps! Jim Hobdy created the UNT Battle Flag in 1986 and WAS NOT involved with Rick Spear's design of the flying worm which was adopted by Hayden Fry and used during his tenure.My bad. It is a shame that we didn't stick with it and it certainly separated us from any other eagle mascot. However if you google history of Mean Green knickname you will find the credit for its universal usage by UNT attributed to Rick Villareal, not Hayden Fry.

      I don't think Hayden did this. Perhaps you could provide some reference as I can't recall the term "mean green " applying to our team as a whole until the 2000's. Yes the eagle is our mascot and mean green is the nickname of our team. Also I believe Jim Hobney [sic] was also involved in the creation of the flying worm bet can't exactly remember how. Maybe you know.

      I agree with most all you say, but I don't think Coach has his team here yet. Everything is not yet fixed (ie defense). If he can elevate the Defensive play (ie new DC and bigger, better players) to match the Offense, then we will have something! Sorry, we are still a work in progress!

      This is a big game for Elf

      We have lost 4 of the last 5 against this program, 5-7 overall. UTSA has been playing FBS football since 2012. Since 2013, we have been in a conference with them. Through last season, they are 72-65. They've won 2 conference titles and have gone 1-4 in bowl games, while also being ranked. They've had three coaches. In the same category above, we are 63-71. No conference championships and have gone 1-6 in bowl games. We have had 4 head coaches. If we lose to them tonight, Morris will basically tell us that he just isn't going to be able to lift this program higher than it was when he took it over. UTSA in 2024 is not good. They're 4-5, with wins over Kennesaw State, Houston Christian, FAU, and (somehow) Memphis. Not counting having to sacrifice themselves to UT-Daddy, they've lost 4 games against peer programs, Texas State, ECU, Rice, and Tulsa. Maybe I'm wrong, but we should beat these guys, even on the road at a place that has been a house of horrors for us, if we have the right coach leading us. This is one of those games that will tell us in our hearts if we have someone worth a damn as the head coach or if he's no different than everyone else we always hire here.
