Tuscon Bowl Gets the Green Light

An Idaho sports station is reporting that the Executive Director of the new Tuscon Bowl has secured a title sponsor for this season. The Tuscon Bowl will feature teams from C-USA and the MWC. The bowl is scheduled to be played on December 29th, but has yet to announce a network. With the addition of the Tuscon Bowl, C-USA now has 7 guaranteed bowl games this season. C-USA's website has named it the Arizona Bowl.

Nice! Arizona bowl! I definitely understand the complaints in regards to there being to many bowl games. It's like a little over 64% of teams are going bowling now? But for an avid football watcher like me, it will be nice to enjoy soaking up all these bowl games around the holidays though!

Although I hope for a conference championship and whatever bowl game that entitles us to, or at least a spot in the Heart of Mean Green Country Bowl once again, if for some reason we end of at the Arizona Bowl...

As long as they are economically viable, there will be more bowls. When they stop being viable, the number will go down. The university Presidents said years ago they want a team that gets to .500 to go to a bowl.

This topic is a moot point if North Texas goes to a bowl after this season.  If we "hit 6" then I expect to travel with the Mean Green.  Sort of a little trophy for being a good fan.  If we don't go, then there are too many bowls, or not enough bowls, or the whole bowl system if worthless, or, or, or....
