Of course not and the students might freak out like they did with the governor.

No matter what it's a great move on SMU's part and it would be really cool for their players. They'll remember meeting him forever. Pretty cool.

Totally agree...

I'd get Mean Joe Greene to practice every year in two-a-days if I was Mac, just because his words carry a lot of weight and he is one of our own. He may not be a president, but he is a  HOF'er!!

His father was attending Yale when he was born after returning from WWII and W was 2 or younger when he moved to Texas. The only times George W. Bush has lived outside of Texas was due to school or being president. He was our governor and his (and his father's) presidential library is here. Sounds pretty Texan to me.

Still not quite a native though (lol). The Bush's were actually thought of by many in Texas as outsiders in those early days, being Republicans and northeasterners and all. When I was little, Daddy Bush actually made an offer on the house next door to us in Houston. It wasn't all that high dollar of a neighborhood back then but definitely is now. It sure would have been something growing up next door to them had they gotten the house. W was living in an apartment about a half mile away at the time. I guess it was during his time with The National Guard between Yale and Harvard Business School.

"Mr. Emmitt01, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." - Billy Madison's Principal

Most of their players were  10-11 years old when he was President. Probably don't give a shit.  Butt, bring in a Kardashian and they would lose their mind.

Yes, very true statement. Kids these days seem infatuated with Armenian whores.

(And was your use of "Butt" intentional? If so, well played.)

You respect the office. Current and former. Period. It shows a lack of class when you don't Mr. Emmit01.

I tend to think that school of thought died when George W. was in office. With the way the left treated that president it took down that prohibition more than any other time (at least modern times). The other side naturally sees a chance to pay back the insults now.

I don't see how the current political climate will allow a return to being more respectful of that office anytime soon.

In my book, NO person in ANY office has an exemption from disrespect based upon their actions. I'm not a Bush hater, so I'm not referring to Bush in this context. I certainly voted for him enough times.
