Obviously, Chip Kelly gets a lot of attention for the special and focused attention he gives to player bio-metric data & implementing policies designed to improve on-field results.

The trend isn't limited to Eugene, OR or Philly but seems to be spreading throughout CFB...

College Football Wakes Up to a New Statistic: Sleep

When the University of Pittsburgh football team reported back to campus for the first day of fall camp, they were surprised to discover that they would be sharing their dormitory with a new roommate.

Their head coach.

“I feel like I’m back in college!” said Pat Narduzzi, the Panthers’ first-year coach, who has moved out of his six-bedroom home and into the dorm for the duration of preseason camp.

It is no secret that college-football coaches are control freaks, known for scripting everything from what players eat to where they stand in the huddle. But this summer, they have started meddling in the one aspect of their players’ lives that was thought to be beyond their control: how well they sleep.

Given the fact that our team is facing 12 straight weeks of grueling physical activity, I am on board with implimenting a new program to help players get adequate amounts of sleep.  

My proposal: Since RV arranged the schedule, he can follow the Pat Narduzzi's lead and arrange to live in Victory Dorm with the players and personally tuck each player into bed
