Sept 3 (Thursday)

FIU at UCF 5pm - I think the Florida schools will be much improved this season.  This will give us an early indication.

WKU at Vandy 7pm - Would love to see WKU win this.

UTSA at Zona 9pm - Will give us a sense of how far UTSA has to go.

 

Sept 4th (Friday)

Charlotte at Georgia State 2:30pm - Interested as to where Charlotte is as a program.

Baylor at SMU 6pm - Interested to see if SMU can keep it close.

 

Sat Sept 6th

FAU at Tulsa  2:30pm - Would be a nice early win for C-USA.

UTEP at Arkansas 2:30pm - Hogs have the horses but interesting because of similar styles.

Bowling Green at Tennessee 3pm - Furture opponent Tennessee against a serious g5 program.

Arizona State at Texas A&M 6pm - I think this could be a trap game for A&M even though it is a home game being in Houston.

Texas at Notre Dame 6:30PM - Will Texas rebound?

Texas State at Florida State 7pm - Would be nice to see Texas State have a good showing.

Hogs lost their starting RB Jonathan Williams for the season the other day. But even still they will blow UTEP out of the water. UTEP may not even score. I predict Arkansas wins the SEC West and quite possibly the conference. They are scary good.

UTSA at Zona 9pm - Will give us a sense of how far UTSA has to go. (Zona might go crazy in this game, with their QB returning to run the high powered offense and a little Scooby on D, it might not be much of a game,considering the youth on the UTSA squad)

Arizona State at Texas A&M 6pm - I think this could be a trap game for A&M even though it is a home game being in Houston. (give me ASU by a touchdown, A&M is losing their grip on the top spot in Texas)

Texas at Notre Dame 6:30PM - Will Texas rebound? (it could be a VERY close game, if Texas still has a D, they will be going to play a very young ND QB)

Texas State at Florida State 7pm - Would be nice to see Texas State have a good showing.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be tuned into as much of this as possible, so i am definitely ready for this to get here!

I predict Arkansas wins the SEC West and quite possibly the conference. They are scary good.

I believe Arkansas is good, but I don't think they can get enough wins in the West.

      UTSA Game Uniforms

      I don't think Hayden did this. Perhaps you could provide some reference as I can't recall the term "mean green " applying to our team as a whole until the 2000's. Yes the eagle is our mascot and mean green is the nickname of our team. Also I believe Jim Hobney [sic] was also involved in the creation of the flying worm bet can't exactly remember how. Maybe you know.

      I agree with most all you say, but I don't think Coach has his team here yet. Everything is not yet fixed (ie defense). If he can elevate the Defensive play (ie new DC and bigger, better players) to match the Offense, then we will have something! Sorry, we are still a work in progress!

      This is a big game for Elf

      We have lost 4 of the last 5 against this program, 5-7 overall. UTSA has been playing FBS football since 2012. Since 2013, we have been in a conference with them. Through last season, they are 72-65. They've won 2 conference titles and have gone 1-4 in bowl games, while also being ranked. They've had three coaches. In the same category above, we are 63-71. No conference championships and have gone 1-6 in bowl games. We have had 4 head coaches. If we lose to them tonight, Morris will basically tell us that he just isn't going to be able to lift this program higher than it was when he took it over. UTSA in 2024 is not good. They're 4-5, with wins over Kennesaw State, Houston Christian, FAU, and (somehow) Memphis. Not counting having to sacrifice themselves to UT-Daddy, they've lost 4 games against peer programs, Texas State, ECU, Rice, and Tulsa. Maybe I'm wrong, but we should beat these guys, even on the road at a place that has been a house of horrors for us, if we have the right coach leading us. This is one of those games that will tell us in our hearts if we have someone worth a damn as the head coach or if he's no different than everyone else we always hire here.
