So, what happens if/when AM fails and makes a moron out of Mccarney? Nothing? Are we all OK with 0 accountability?

The accountability will ultimately fall upon Canales and he will be gone. Mac has let Chico craft an offense that fits McNulty's strengths as well as the strengths of the skill players. So if this up tempo offense falls flat will Coach Mac revert back to the 2.5 yards and a cloud of dust offense?

Sadly and unfortunately, but:

Mac's three more years of $600k per season  >  winning and accountability to the university

If this weren't true, RV wouldn't have made it here after the Dodge debacle, much less the Benford debacle...

What will inhibit a QB change midseason this year is the lack of a bye week.

as well as a lack of qualified candidates...just surprised Damarcus Smith hasn't passed Greer on the depth chart. He must not grade well on Chico's tests.

AM was clearly better than anything we had returning. And all of you experts are basing your opinion of FS on what again?  A highlight reel?

My own 2 eyes.  I have a "few" years of experience in the trenches all the way through college, so I might trust them a little. However, I'll be the first to admit that I'm no expert, I'm not better than any coach on any coaching staff,  but like any armchair analyst,  I trust what I see through my own two eyeballs. I won't base anything on a highlight reel, but I do know what I've seen here last year was NOT FBS level QB play. Not even the slightest.

You say he was CLEARLY better? The one eyed man is king in the land of the blind, my friend.

So the only 2 that returned were AM and JG.  I have not seen much argument that AM was better than JG. That leaves us with the unknown CM and DS who have not taken a D1 snap.

If DS is as good as everyone on here says he is, I don't see why he won't quickly climb the depth chart and be ready to step in when he gets the chance.

i hope DS is the real deal. If he is, it should just be a matter of time.

This is a very valid post as AM has had injury issues in the past.  It happens to the best of them at this level.  i would still see Josh Greer being the #2 guy in the forseeable future.  Had DaMarcus been here in the spring it might have been a different story.

What am I seeing in Connor Means that no one else does. The kid is 6 foot 4 inches with a sturdy frame. He has been here for two springs and two full seasons. He should know the system and be ready to go. Both spring games he was the QB on the least talented teams yet he made it competitive. How can he be ranked behind Greer who has been a bust and DeMarcus Smith who may not stay academically eligible and is still learning the offense. I say Means needs playing time this year, when Mini Mac falters. What am I not seeing here?

The fact that his is very inconsistent in his fundamentals and play. He is not ready and hasnt looked better than Greer this fall. Yes he has the size and athleticism, but his progression hasnt been what people hoped it would be.

I would expect that whoever is next in line will be asked to step up.

If it turns out that we don't have a starter, or a backup, that is capable of running an offense (again) then Chico will be gone.  Mac has some protection due to his contract.

So, what happens if, IF, McNulty succeeds and makes a moron out of 90% of the posters on here?

Then the team will have succeeded due to great defense and special teams play, and in spite of the bus driver at QB.  Same as DT.

You are right.  DT had nothing to do with the success of the 13' team.

Correct.  They were successful in spite of him.  Despite his presence.  They overcame him.

Watch the periscope videos, he is an innacurate passer. He puts balls in the wrong place if he hits his man. That can be corrected, but it must be before he should see serious time on the field in a game.
