Got some good pub near the end of the third qtr the def. coordinator for Atlanta likes him apparently.

Heard this as well.  Included a reference to his coming from North Texas.

The commentator said DC's (Richard Smith, I believe) description of Akunne was that he's "on fire" (referring to his motor).

Akunne finished with a team leading 8 total tackles (6 solo).  In a writeup on the game, ESPN wrote:

Digging Deep: A few bottom-of-the-roster guys who deserve mention for their play include running back Michael Ford, who had a touchdown run; receiver Marquez Clark, who had a couple of nice catches, and linebacker Derek Akunne, who just seemed to be around the ball.

Great to see our guys getting some run.  The more you show recruits that we are producing nfl players, the more they start to think that playing early in a career matters more than the helmet they wear.
