We have a QB savior!!! lol JK but seriously, that is good news and good to see him be able to throw accurately over and over on the move.  Imagine what he will do when he has a run game to hold defenses at bay.

No one should be surprised that Smith can throw while on the move, re: off-balance.  That was the first thing I noticed when watching his Butler highlights...  When scrambling, he kept his head up looking for receivers, then he hit them, and it didn't matter how far down the field they were.

You can see McNulty at the beginning making loopy throws the Greer with a nice throw, Then Means makes strong throw but in the dirt and erratic, Then the man of the hour Smith making a perfect pass.

If only this was a Democracy for Starting QB and the Mean Green Club could vote for the starting QB

Seeing Smith in every video, is giving me that confidence he is nipping at McNulty's heels right now. Smith doesn't even take that much room to wind up and throw. It is almost a straight hike and then power throw on a one step motion almost.

OH yeah, thats a simple throw for a D1 athlete to make to were he doesnt have to wind up to make that throw. As much as i would like to think that Smith is Nipping at McNutty's heels, I dont think he is just based on all of Macs comments

I guess that's what they're working on.  None of them dropped back more than 2 steps.

McNulty's & Smith's footwork looked good and I thought their throws were similar.  Greer's feet were happy, and Means... well, there's a reason he's likely 4th string.

Greer did have a nice throw though. Not a caliber QB. I think you're right about Means being a last QB. I think it is pretty clear that McNulty and Smith are the 1st and 2nd stringers.

Kind of reminds of the weird way Tim Tebow would be at stance. Except comparing the two guys would be apples to oranges. LoL

lol yeah there's some of that, though not as bad form as Tebow. Reminds a little Russell Wilson, a little Michael Vick in his throw, but even then they never let the ball drop that low.

Yeah, when I see stuff like that, plus his high school numbers, and the fact that the only person Means has been ahead of in two spring practices has been walkons and Chumley, it really makes me wonder why we aren't going after a high school QB this class. I'm starting to think maybe Means and Chumley should be switched with Dillman. They're both young, but I'm just not seeing the progress.

I haven't seen or heard enough about Chumley to know anything.  He's gotta be destined for a redshirt this year, right?  So we likely wont see much out of him until next spring.   Of course, he could be the scrimmage-team QB and we could hear all kinds of good things about him like we did Bean @ LB last year.

I enjoy watching these short videos of the QBs, although there isn't enough footage for us to draw any conclusions. But, I do appreciate the coaching staff sending them out. I think it helps generate interest in the upcoming season.

He won't be a QB.

At the very high risk of sounding like a football ouche day, it shouldn't take more than a couple throws on Chumley's highlight tape to tell you that he isn't a D1 QB.
