BOCA RATON, Florida – Riding a four-game win streak, the UNT men’s basketball team is at Florida Atlantic Thursday aiming to clinch a top four seed in the 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Mean Green (20-6, 11-3) and Owls (15-12, 8-6) are scheduled to tip off from Boca Raton, Florida, at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPN2.
North Texas enters Thursday tied for second place in the AAC standings with a three-game lead over fifth-place Florida Atlantic with three games remaining following Thursday. A win over the Owls secures a top 4 finish in the league standings. The top four teams earn a double bye into the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament. The tournament begins March 12 but the quarterfinal round begins March 14 from Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
On Thursday the Mean Green face an Owls team they beat 77-64 in Denton on Jan. 26. Atin Wright and Brenen Lorient each scored 17 points in the 13-point win. FAU enters Thursday on a two-game losing streak but had won five in a row prior.
North Texas has won five of its last six road games played. They’ve won six road games all season, which is tied for how many they had all of last year in head coach Ross Hodge’s first year.
The Mean Green’s 20 overall wins so far are one more than they had last season and their 11 league wins are one more than they finished with last year too.
After its road game at FAU on Thursday, North Texas returns home to hosts its final two home games. They’ll welcome Wichita State to the Super Pit on March 3 and Charlotte on March 6. They wrap up the regular season on March 9 at Temple.

Skylar walks the first two batters and three overall but we escape the top of the first unscathed. The pitcher for Tech is also batting and grounded into the inning-ending out.
