What does P5 and G5 stand for ?

I've read these terms forever and I don't know what they mean.  Does P5 stand for POWER 5 conferences ?  If so, what are the P5 conferences ?  And what does G5 stand for ?  And what are the conferences in the G5 ?

Power 5; Big ten, Big 12, the ACC, the Pac-12, and the SEC.

Group of 5 American, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West, and Sun Belt

So if we see conferences start to fall apart and teams rearrange themselves somewhere else in the P5 and G5. What will the future look like for everyone? (I have seen some of y'all talk about the big 12 dissolving,)

The G5 is inappropriately named. They are not a group in any way, shape, or form.

 

It would be great if they banded together to fight the monopoly that is being imposed on them. Instead, they simple act like Ray and hang around the table for any crumbs that fall off the P5's plate.
