Curious,  if you could have what you wanted, would it be 6 home games or 5 "good" home games and 1 road money game. There seems to be conflicting opinions on the board.

Are you a spy? Or are utsa fans too dumb to carry on informational conversations over on your board. I kid, I kid...kind of.

I want 6 home games every year with alternating years of not having to play a road P5 game. That's it. I like the schedule as is aside from the AD pimping out our program every. single. year. and this year twice. Yay!

UTSA fans have very little experience  watching programs grow and evolve. I think dumb would be a mischaracterization, ignorant more fitting. I think spy is hilarious since neither I nor anyone on this board are in any position (I don't think anyway) to influence either program to capitalize on the insight or commentary on the board. IF either program monitors this or any other board and has quality take-aways that actually influence  decisions,  that program's gonzo. If you would feel  more comfortable with me getting a deceptive name or talk crap, I'll pass. I'd rather grow as a fan, network as fans and enjoy the ride.

Look dude, we really only deserve what our AD gives us and should never question his greatness, otherwise some people who consider themselves his friends will remind us how lucky we are to have such a man leading us to nowhere.

It it really doesn't matter how many times he lies to us (better OOC opponents once we get the new stadium, Tulsa is the cause of everything evil with this year's schedule, or one of the many others told in his tenure), we just need to accept it and name something after him when he retires with 20 years of AD service at UNT without doing anything appreciable to advance the status of the athletics programs.

UNT AD. Easiest AD job in FBS (sorta) athletics.

"Without doing anything appreciable to advance the status of the athletics programs"

I don't think you really meant that.

Seeing UNT90 back spewing his broken record comments on and on and on means one good thing at least....UNT football cannot be that far away.  The ad nauseam of his continued rants means that he has awakened from his deep off season slumber and that football is approaching.  He's like the little boy who cries wolf every five seconds just to get attention, but he is the Pauxantanny Phil for UNT football.  He came out...he didn't see his shadow and so the rants will carry us to football season.

Welcome to the current chapter in the "this AD sucks" novel from UNT90.  But, for those who have the original first edition....nothing new in this printing.

Thanks for coming out of that deep slumber.  You were missed...well sort of.

interesting that this is the only thing you take issue with.

I'm just the balance to your sunshine pumping self, even though this football program has sucked forever, and will most certainly suck again this year mainly due to the scheduling ineptitude of the current AD.

As far as "being back," that's a decision still to be made.

5 home games means 1 OOC, which would likely be FCS. I'd prefer 6 homes games, with 1 bought OOC win, and 1 solid mid-major OOC.

With that home slate I'd be okay then playing the tier of teams that includes Illinois/Indiana/Purdue away game. You know, a game we have a fighting chance in.

The best UNT schedule is for the baseball team.

Less infuriating than the basketball schedule, less contentious than the football schedule. Easiest of all to shrug and ignore.

Undefeated, perfectly balanced home and away, no frustrating road paycheck beatdowns from power conference teams. Thanks, baseball team!

So we can pat RV on the back for that one?

I like the way future schedules shape up.

We have series with SMU and Army.  Both are games we should win if we are good enough to go to a bowl.

We have an away game with P5 (we could actually drop this and go home/home with another school more like ourselves).

We buy a home win every year.

We have away games that I can drive to in Rice / UTSA / La Tech / SMU / Southern Miss.

I'll get to see the Mean Green play 8 times this year with reasonable travel, and hopefully a bowl game at the end.

The only thing I would change is that I would NEVER play the Texas again.  After '88, it is clear that we will not be allowed to win that game.  I would also ask my head coach if he wants to play a P5 on the road every year.  If not, I would drop that and find someone else that would be willing to come here every other year.

Overall, I like what RV has done.

My ideal schedule is one where I continue to pay a premium price to watch an ever diminishing product.  Oh, and if you throw in being brow beaten by the regular sycophants who see more damage in my dissatisfaction than in the 15,000 empty seats surrounding my season tickets, then I'd just be in heaven.

All of this...while watching a home game against our old bitter rival, Abilene Christian, at an 11am kickoff in early September.
