I know Mac had a tough season but I do think he deserves credit for turning around the academic situation.  UNT has some of the best educational programs and graduation rates to sell in C-USA.  He deserves some credit for this.

Would the UNT football Twitter account get blown up or Macs acct if they posted this?

Since we are on the road of props to coach mac, I looked at your recruiting net and it's very wide- Kansas, Ga, Miss, Texas, etc. It looks like he does a good job being diligent. Is this typical, searching in as many states?

I would assume so. I'd wager a large portion of our fanbase watched the '13 Rice game on the tube. I was limited to George and Hank myself while handing out candy just south of Austin. Plus, I've said that phrase about countless football games that weren't home NT games.

Thanks for reminding us of this Harry.  People frequenting a college sports board sometimes lose sight of priorities.  It should also be remembered that our AD has placed emphasis on academics as well.

Give her some credit, but was she not doing the same job under Dodge.  When it comes to academics, the head coach sets the tone. Players quickly learn if the coach is serious about books or not

Kudos, but lets be honest with ourselves. Coaches are hired to win games and I doubt the main reason many people on this board buy season tickets and join the MGC is to improve our athlete's grades. A coach's team can have the best grades in the country, but if he's not winning he'll get canned in a heart beat.

Doing great in academics is something to be proud of, for sure, and Mac does deserve credit here. But we all know that isn't what will help him keep his job after his 4th year of his current contract expires. It will then be a matter of affordability and performance combined together. The academic success just keeps us from having a black eye in PR, so it doesn't hurt us...

Academics were good under Dodge.  Athletics, not so much.
