Have to start winning recruiting battles, getting our teeth kicked in recently

“The plan was to make my commitment at the end of July. For that to happen, I really need to reevaluate all of my options,” Rau said. “I think after I get back from the state 7-on-7 tournament, then I will begin that process, and we’ll see how that goes. I can say that in-state schools will have the advantage. Both sides of families live in the state.”

Going forward, that will be part of the deal for whatever program lands the 6-foot-4, 248-pound Rau. To date, he holds 12 offers, five of which are in the state borders with SMU, Houston, North Texas, Rice and Texas State. He was not yet ready to name any schools on to, but it sounds as though some, if not most of the programs will make the cut.
