If Middleton signs, he’ll be the first Football Bowl Subdivision signee from Southwest since running back Ra’Shawn Mosley signed with Arizona in 2002.

Injuries plagued Middleton last season but he still picked up 769 yards and scored seven touchdowns out of Southwest’s stack I-formation. Wagner said Middleton is more of a power running back but his speed was evident this past spring, when he was the second leg of Southwest’s 1,600-meter relay. He also set the school long jump record as a freshman.
