 • On Wednesday, Clemmons was on the field at Carleton University to practise with the Redblacks, joined by fellow offensive lineman Jake Silas, receiver Brelan Chancellor and defensive back Lew Toler.

Whether any of the newcomers would play in the Redblacks’ final pre-season game against the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday is unknown. There’s only one more full practice Thursday and a short “walk-through” on Friday before a bus ride to Quebec City.

Chancellor, Toler and Dixon played at North Texas State, Rutgers and Washington, respectively.

I thought he had a chance at some NFL camp, no?

I think he probably got caught up in one or more of the NFL's size stereotypes (too short, too slow, too light, etc.) that they seem to apply blindly to players, totally disregarding the intangibles. We know Brelan is a player and Ottawa will find that out if they give him a fair look.

Wish they had seen him outrun Georgia.

The Steelers have Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Markus Wheaton, Dri Archer, and drafted Sammie Coates and Jesse James.

There's an enviable amount of receiver talent on that roster. Would like to have seen him go to a needy team like the Panthers.

Hope he can make some noise and get some pro experience up there.
