How much does the Houston HC make in comparison to Mac?

I'll feed the SMU fire over here with coaches salary talk for your amusement. UH and SMU both hired big name P5 OCs this year. Of course SMU claims they hired the better coach. Time will tell on that. But one of the consistently funny arguments they use for why their coach is better is because they paid more money, $2mm base.

Only 2 problems with that argument

1) They have to pay more to get a decent coach because SMU is a head coach graveyard. I don't believe a single SMU coach has been a D1/FBS coach again after leaving SMU since Hayden Fry was fired in 1972 and then went on to coach at Iowa and of course UNT.

2) June Jones made a large amount of money at SMU. I think his average was more than Briles' and Sumlin's combined average salary. Which coaches were better? Even Levine, who made much less than June and was fired, had a better record at UH than June at SMU.

I would be down. Basketball is my sport but I can throw a ball. Now hitting it... Not so much haha.
Kram any interesting in a GMG softball game just for fun? We don't even need jerseys! Just 20-30 people, bats and balls.

We did a successful GMG.Com softball game a couple of years ago. I said I would do the first one WITH help, but needed to turn it over to someone else after the first one. You will note there has not been one since the first. These things are MUCH more work and include much more upfront expense than most people realize. It is not just 20-30 players and ballads and bats to do it right and have a chance of raising any level of funds at all. Just raising $2-300 is hardly worth the effort. Easier to just write a check if that's all you are looking to do....but, it was a great day and a fun game. I am up for another and would relent and help do it...but, would need serious and dedicated help. Without a couple of folks actually willing to work, I am just not going to move this forward. If folks are interested and are willing to work and take on certain rolls...PM me and we'll see where we can go with softball game II.

I was just thinking someone find a field and people can show up with gloves and bats and we can play. Doesn't have to cost anything if everyone brings their own equipment.

Also so people on here could form a basketball team to play in the Denton rec basketball leauge (also softball).

Just a follow up... After 11 days, it looks like they're at about $23k. Just a few people to go at the minimum of $500 to reach the $25k max match. You always worry that something like this will flop, but it looks like this time it was successful.
