Four. Hugh Freeze (now at Ole Miss), Gus Malzahn (now at Auburn), Bryan Harsin (now at Boise State), and Now Blake Anderson.

Good athletic directors making those hires. None of those coaches had ever been a head coach at the D1 level prior to getting hired there. Arkansas State knows that it's often better at this level (G5) to hire guys with no experience since you can't pluck away good HCs from other FBS schools. But a good AD can tell who has what it takes to translate to winning football at that school.

A-State has also made significant facilities improvements.  I drove by there on Friday, and their new indoor practice facility is up and impressive (from the outside), and they are putting in a new pressbox with suites.  It's not Apogee, but they show an all-around commitment to their football program that is hard to deny.

But it is still in Jonesboro.  I don't know many worse places to be.  Bad when we lose to them.
