6'6" 230 lb offensive tackle from Marble Falls High School in Marble Falls, TX. Could potentially project at defensive end or tight end. We have offered at offensive line. Also holds offers from Texas Tech, Nebraska, SMU, Rice, Air Force, and UTSA. Was a first-team all district selection at offensive tackle.

And Cyril Lemon came out of Marble Falls HS.

136th!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! GO STAFF!

Hey now, this North Texas. We don't get up off our asses until August.  No reason to be out there recruiting.

It's sad, but our recruiting really has reminded me this whole cycle of a staff and coach that thinks it/he is about to be fired after the season. Not a coach who is heading into the 2nd year of a 5-year extension.

Any chance this turns around after our Friday night lights camp? They just had theirs... Granted their recruiting staff is head and shoulders above ours. Forget the guy who they brought in but he's been tweeting and posting videos constantly

Now, now!  Don't forget that UNT is a hard place to recruit to.  Especially when those responsible for recruiting seemingly sit around with their thumbs up their.........oh, never mind.

Depends what your definition of "turns around" is. Will we be better than 136th in the country, have more than 2 commits, and start passing some of these FCS programs like Elon and Mercer? Probably, and we better. Will we have a respectable CUSA-level class after the weekend? It would certainly have to be better than last year for that to be the case.

Last year, looking off the article and going off of memory, we gained a commitment from Abdul Beecham (who had no other FBS offers and eventually double signed with DII Midwestern State and JUCO Trinity Valley), had Ashton Preston in who had already been committed, had Creighton Barr in who committed about a month and a half later, tried to get Myles Cheatum to commit but he didn't, and turned down a commitment from Graham Mcwhorter (told him we "needed to see his transcripts first"). Also had Chett Munden in who committed a few days later to us over one other offer (ULM).

A big camp weekend with a few commits would help, but we need to start winning recruiting battles and leaving good impressions.

The old saying goes "it's not about the X's and O's, it's about the Jimmys and Joes"

We are in for some rough years the way recruiting has gone.

Yep.  Austin paper had an article about U of H's new head coach, Tom Herman who was hired out of Ohio State, and their new "wiz kid" recruiting guru.  He was pretty basic, "you win games because you have better players than your opponents".  Makes sense to me.
