It probably deserves a mention that it is day 3 of the C-USA golf tournament, and our boys are currently leading by 7 shots. Jason Roets is also leading the individuals by 2 shots.

Sadly enough for the men, C-USA has decided that stroke play is not enough, after day 3 the 4 best teams will advance to match play. At this point UNT is almost certain to make it there.

And it's official: UNT won the stroke play 7 shots ahead of UAB.

If I correctly understood, they will play Charlotte in match play now, who - after a horrible day 2 - managed to get back into the semis with a red hot day 3. Not gonna be easy.

And while Jason Roets had a pretty bad day and lost the top individual spot, UNT still won that one as Juan Munoz managed to grab it.

That semifinal with Charlotte might come down to the wire, currently UNT is slightly in the lead.

We lost one, won one, and of the remaing three we are up by 2 in one and all square in the 2 others.

Why is this so confusing?

Why is this so confusing?

Because the rules are kinda not written anywhere where one would easily look them up and they changed the mode of play for this season.

They are doing match play. It seems that if a match is all square players go to a 19th to decide a winner for each individual match

currently still have won one, lost one. one is tied, one shortly before a win for UNT and in one we are down. Basically we are 2 up, 2 down and 1 all square

ok, currently leading 2-1.

two matches left: Jason Roets was all squared up and is now on the 19th to decide that match.

Juna Munoz, despit playing an awesome -4 for the day so far, is one down with 2 holes to go.

UNT needs one of those two matches to advance.

Really appreciating the updates! UNT Golf is looking good.

Good news! UNTs mens golf is going to the conference championship final against UAB!

Munoz turned his match around and won on the last two holes. After winning the individual title, that is another outstanding performance by him.

Seems the 19th hole was not played for Roets.

The final starts at 1:20 pm. UAB is ranked 30th nationally, so this will be tough.

Sadly I might not be around to put updates on the board.

Thanks for the link. I found this earlier, but it seems outoftown is getting much more detailed updates.

It's saying that right now all 5 matches are all square, since they haven't started yet. Or at least they haven't scored their first hole yet.

It's in Texarkana... Maybe he's there?

Did some reading on the scoring.. Understand it a little better now. I'll be refreshing throughout the day.

Good way to start. Cory Churchman wins the first hole. If you click on North Texas on that link it will open up a more detailed run down.

There you go! That's what I'm looking for.

I see Cotton also won his first hole, with the other three pairings yet to play it.

for the matchups, do they submit them before hand or is it like a home team gets to pick their player second after the visitors declared who will play in the match?

interesting to see that our #5 is playing their #1...that's the only matchup where uab has a higher ranked (?) player

Good question, I'm guessing both submit them beforehand and there is some strategy to that. Might put your #1 in the #5 spot to ensure at least one victory, but then you are sacrificing elsewhere. At least that's how it was in team tennis match play when I played.
