No they are not. To say otherwise could leave liable for a discrimination lawsuit.

Lol. Don't think I'm getting sued for a message board post so I'll just tell the truth.

Feel better knowing she is at least mid 30s. Still a bit young and a gamble, but maybe one that will finally work out.

While looking for her DOB, I noticed on her LinkedIn page that she belongs to the UNT Alumni group. That's a positive, but only if she can coach and recruit.

Yes, fan message board fodder is one thing but if you were the hiring company and manager you could be in trouble for making such a statement.

Well, since Harry actually made this hire, maybe I should watch my step...

The bigger question is not whether she can recruit or coach but can she hire assistant coaches who can help her sell the program to prospective students to play BB at UNT?

Next question will be can the assistant coaches be effective in their positions whether recruiting, coaching or implementing Jalie Mitchell's vision for UNT BB?

Considering she spent several years in the business world away from basketball, I would say they're different.

As for the hire, I'll be pulling for Jalie to do well. Glad to see one of our own get an opportunity.

Counterpoint: How many times have we said that about a new coach in the past 15 years?

Has it ever happened before in any sport?

(I'm optimistic about this hire-could be great and we need some great news.)
