Chances are the CUSA line up would change. There is a shortage of decent bowl choices for west division schools though. The two regular options are the New Orleans Bowl and the Dallas Bowl.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. Maybe the New Mexico Bowl will get scrapped in favor of one of these two?

Isnt the New Mexico Bowl a regular bowl for C-USA?

I wonder if the AAC is getting uninvited to some current bowls involving P5 opponents. Not sure they have the ability to send more teams to bowls unless they are losing some.

There are too many bowl games as is. Which makes making only 1 in the last 10 years even more sad.

Could be 43 bowls, which means 86 bowl teams. That's about 67% of FBS teams.

As long as teams are left sitting in the sidelines with good records like what happens every year we should welcome more bowls. Mix in 6th street the desert in winter and disneyworld and that is fantastic especially if CUSA snags some slots!

Absolutely...and some thought to dumping the Hawaii Bowl as well. The date of that bowl is terrible and so is the cost if attending. Bahamas Bowl not much better. Did everyone note the attendance at both these bowls? That alone should say all that needs to be said regarding these two bowls. Austin and Tucson are both better travel possibilities.....my opinion of course.

Pretty soon they're gonna have to change the rules of bowl eligibility and start letting in 5-7 teams. Then, of course, maybe two or three of maybe fifteen total 5-7 teams will get in, leaving the remaining twelve 5-7 teams stomping their feet and bitching at the next winter meetings, which, of course, will lead to even more bowl games until every team in FBS is playing in a bowl and they have to start inviting FCS teams to fill the gaps. Of course, the P5 will be laughing all the way to the bank with their shares of the uber bowls that G5 can never attend while the programs and fanbases of the G5 bankrupt themselves trying to pay for travel to the Joe's Crab Lotion and Antibiotics Shack of Needles, CA Bowl.

I think ESPN owns Bahamas Bowl, so it will probably live. With 2 in 3 teams playing in bowls, pressure is really on those who don't.

The Austin Bowl game would be sweet! especially an AAC opponent. I would love to go to Austin for a bowl game. 6th Street!

An Austin should be pretty well traveled by any of the Texas teams. That would be a nice bowl.

Man, this is overkill! There should only be thirty bowls plus the eight (currently) playoff teams. Even that gives you more than 50% of the teams that will be going to a bowl equivalent.

Every bowl should draw at or near 30,000+. That should eliminate the Bahamas, Miami Beach, Famous Idaho Potato, Camellia, and probably the Hawaii bowls.

I like the new bowl proposals except for the one in Orlando which would likely only be successful if UCF were in it.
