Indeed I was. And it was amazing. The kid found her new religion in the Oak Cliff mango soda. I'll try the sammiches next time I'm down there. I hear the shaved ribeye is spectacular.

Porush and I swear by their sammiches. The shaved ribeye is one of the better things is I've ever had. We actually had dinner there last night as well - I'm ashamed to say that I've been getting the grilled chicken sammich the last few times. I have no idea wtf they do to it, b/c grilled chicken sounds as fun as church. But holy lord almighty they do something to that chicken to transform it into something else.

Were you at Uncle Uber's? The paper and lettuce leads me to believe so..I will go to war to defend their sammiches.

Agree great stuff at Uncle Uber's. Couldn't get in the place for lunch last time the bride and I were there...too darn crowded. Ended up at the Angry Dog and once again enjoyed their Angry Dog.

RG burger or GTFO.

Oh but if only Fred's was closer instead of all the way down in FW. Fred's North on Western Center is closer but still not close enough.

If by RG you mean Rodeo Goat, yes. RG or GTFO. Fred's has it's time and mood... but if given a choice RG gets my vote 100% of the time.

If you like tricked up burgers, then RG is your place. Otherwise, pretty worthless. Just saying.

Doesn't hold a candle to the original Freds, or the original Kincaids.

But if you insist on a quale egg on your burger (which was originally done by the now defunct Love Shack),this is your place.

So meh.

I certainly don't insist on it, but I really do like a quail egg on my burger. Doesn't even have to be quail in fact. Just any egg is good on a burger. I think I picked up that habit eating street "hamburgers" in Korea, which had no beef at all. They were a slice of pressed, boiled, overly processed ham, a slice of really bad American cheesefood product, a fried egg, all on grill white bread with thousand island dressing. They were disgusting. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. But I would probably kill my best friend to get just one more.

Freds is legit

If your ever in Corsicana try Carpenters or Aguados burgers. Aguados was/is probably the best burger I've had since Denton

So, is Fred's closed down?

Hardly. The original Freds on W. 7th St. Is still going very strong, including the addition of a fancy new patio and stage added about 3 or 4 years ago.

Plus they have branched out. Aside from the Fred's North that apparently is in Keller (? Haven't been there), there is Fred's on bluebonnet circle where the old Quoi Lounge used to be before Tim Love bought it and ran it into the ground (a bar that had been open since the 1950s) and a Fred's West in Parker county (I think?).

The original on 7th is the best burger in FTW in my opinion.
