You want ever hear me tell people to quit complaining about a bad product. I'm there day or night holding my pitchfork with you, trust me. I'll still consider club seats for the near future but I didn't realize the "gift" was as extensive. That would take some long time persuading with the better half.

They let you pay it out over 5 years, but definitely not for those just starting out.

No doubt, luckily I'm 28 in 2 months. I need some kind of incentive for that kind of money that exclusively includes winning.

The club is pretty amazing. Not everybody's cup of tea since you're so far removed from the field, but amazing views and amenities. Also, that sweet, sweet climate control option. I'm getting too old and gentrified for the pizza oven September games and quick freeze ice bowls of November.

Oh, and there's no feeling quite so great as tossing spent cheesecakes crumbs over the rail onto Thor's head.

This is why I'm there. It's a great option.

It was brought up on GMG.com a while back about the 1100 MGC members and I believe we projected that into an estimate of 4,500 season tickets sold. Both are pitiful, pitiful, pitiful numbers.

One of the numbers are so pitiful that a dedicated, senior member of the AD was challenged with increasing the number to 2,500 MGC members (even if the way of getting there was to basically give away memberships). Mr. Nittardy, would you like to update us on your progress to meeting or exceeding the goal?

Don't put this crap off in anyone else. This is RV's responsibility, not a guy that has been here for a freaking minute.

Why don't you demand answers from the person responsible for this crap?

Nittardy? You gotta be freaking kidding me?

Not sure what you're trying to point out there, but the club seat pricing there doesn't count the one time stadium gift per seat.

Well let me explain it. You have to make mean green donations to get prime seats. Do the math on that and see how much of the Mean Green donations are relative to these gifts. Never stated anything about the one time donations necessary for club seating.

Thank you for schooling me so thoroughly. I never have been able to comprehend what my checks are for.

Getting a new athletic director is not some silver bullet to increasing donations/season ticket sales/mean green club membership. How many people are not buying tickets/donating money because RV is still the AD ... tens of people maybe?

I think I've got the answer to this whole problem. It has been right in front of me the whole time:

RAISE THE ATHLETIC FEE!

That's right, double the annual contribution necessary for rights to purchase season tickets! Instant gratification and winnings!

Take this:

Club Level $325 Requires stadium-fund donation and $500 donation to Mean Green Club.

Priority 1 Reserved $140 Requires $500 donation to Mean Green Club for every four tickets.

Priority 2 Reserved $140 Requires $125 donation to Mean Green Club for every two tickets.

and turn it into THIS BAD BOY!

Club Level $325 Requires stadium-fund donation and $1,000 donation to Mean Green Club.

Priority 1 Reserved $140 Requires $1,000 donation to Mean Green Club for every four tickets.

Priority 2 Reserved $140 Requires $250 donation to Mean Green Club for every two tickets.

Big XII here we come!

Instead of saying how many are not donating because of RV you could/should ask how any more would buy/donate with a new (and hopefully) better AD. The department shake up alone would see more/better effort out of the staff.

Wrong question attached to your bad agenda....

Proper question should be... "How many people are not donating or buying season tickets bc of our inability to consistently win games in any sport?"

It's not that people aren't buying season tickets or donating simply because RV is our AD. They aren't doing it bc they think (and rightfully so) that there isn't a product worth committing to. And ultimately who's job is that to give the people a product worth committing to...

Seriously?

It's RV's JOB to increase donations and add fans. That should be his #1 job at UNT, considering how bad the MGC numbers are at this point. But when you continually make hiring mistakes and show your alumni that you don't know how to schedule football games, those numbers aren't going to increase.

As much as people don't want to hear it, this football season is pretty much over before it begins thanks to a terrible job of scheduling football games by our AD. Take a long, hard look at that schedule and try to find 4 wins.

And a new AD isn't going to make Benford or any of the other coaches we have instantly better. Sure the new AD could go and fire as many coaches as he/she wants but it will cost the school quite a bit of money. Perhaps at the expense of facility upgrades and the addition of baseball for a couple years but how can we miss something (baseball) we've never had?

Not to defend the porous scheduling, but in from a realistic standpoint these are the games that are winnable (even though all games are winnable)...

Portland

SoMiss

Utsa

MUTS

UTEP

Rice

WKU

Probable losses...

La Tech

I dunno, man. I was watching college baseball on ESPN3 over the weekend. I assure you I miss it. I do not miss the completely ignorant ESPN announcers they put on the air who know about as much of college baseball as I do the inner workings of the female mind, but boy howdy do I miss the game itself.

I'm not missing anything.. I'm demanding winning at the current sports.

No one is saying that a new AD is going to sprinkle winning dust all over our incompetent coaches. A new AD though will hire better coaches and do better at fundraising and building relationships. To be frank, he/she couldn't be any worse. We aren't winning, we AREN'T winning!!! Loosen up that death grip on that agenda. Our AD is not making competent hires bc.....we. aren't. winning. And we have been for the majority if this AD's 14 year tenure.

There is absolutely nothing that says the next person who will be the AD will be any better at making hiring decision then RV. You can hope for it all you want though. Those that want RV dismissed at all costs are living in a dream world if you think suddenly all our ills will be cured. Chances are it would take several years until we might see any payoff (more wins, increased ticket sales and donations, etc) on new leadership at the top of the athletic department.

If we were to get a new AD I hope the fans on this message board have the patience to give the new guy/girl the time to "right the ship," so to speak.
