Hopefully this can give some insight, or at the very least, which way the pendulum is swinging in regards to these two openings: North Texas and Georgia. Because, there's a plethora of chatter regarding these positions, and who perchance is in the mix.

North Texas, came open two weeks ago after Mike Petersen and UNT agreed to part ways. Their AD, Rick Villarreal, has been very matter of fact in looking to quickly replace Petersen. Per multiple sources, the Mean Green are down to their finalists and hope to have a decision soon.

Here are the candidates for the position in no particular order:

Lynn Bria, Stetson: Bria, in 2012, interviewed for the vacant post at North Texas and was offered the job. She turned them down and has continued her success with the Hatters.

I didn't know that Bria turned us down. Why would she interview again if this were true? Especially with a program that is now in disarray?

Strange.

My thoughts exactly, if that's true that she turned us down.

Call me skeptical of any article that addresses the UNT coaching search before addressing the Georgia coaching search. Lol

Yeah, I don't know that she was really offered. If she did turn us down then there's a host of reasons why she might have ... and after three years those reasons could change. If we liked her before we should talk with her again. I'd love to have her here.

Rick's obviously not in a hurry, or he would have hired someone by now. I think he has someone in mind, but cannot speak to her until her job is done for the year.

5 names in his desk drawer...

With all the tournament games still going on, it's hard to get a coach that is still in the tournament to call you back for a potential interview. Unless you're fine with a coach that didn't make it to one of the tournaments ...
