And had the chance to hire the coach who laid the foundation for what is occurring at SFA now.

And didn't even interview him...

Then hired a disaster.

I can agree that Underwood and Cross should have been given a good look. It's difficult to say if we would be any better, but still not looking at these guys more in depth was a miss.

1 for 2 in men's basketball,1 for 3 in women's, and 1 for 2 in football[i still think Coach Mac was a good hire based upon 2013] . How does this compare with the other A.D.'s in C.U.S.A. who have similar budgets?

Cross coaches at UTA.

Underwood benefitted by having a great program in place when he took over (yes, he did help build it) but had yet to coach a game as head coach at SFA when we made our hire.

My bad. I was thinking of Kaspar. All three have found sucess though. All three at schools with smaller budgets I believe. Either way we just need to focus on next season and hope for better.

Ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away.

Only a contract buyout will solve this problem.

Benford will be given his last shot to get to "above average" next year , so dig your fire holes and wait. RV
