Interesting non-mention of Benford by Williams in this article. Perhaps it is just the quotes that Brett chose to use, but the only one giving Benford direct credit is RV...

I think the fact that he stated that he's glad he stayed addressed any concerns regarding Tony Benford. Not everyone feels that the man has been that bad for their career. Maybe he is just being nice.

I remember Jordan getting chewed out and benched during one game during his senior year in HS. The kid balled for about 10 minutes on the bench. My fondest memory of him will forever be his verbal commitment to UNT. Though I never considered him a great HS player, his high rankings were, in part, based on his potential. Unlike many top recruits, he chose to sign with UNT because it was a good fit for him and our location. As we all agree, UNT is a place to come for top prospects to get immediate playing time, become a starter, All-Conference player and get in the school's record book. Thanks Jordan, you got it! It has been a pleasure to see the growth and maturity as stated in the article; over the past four years. I wish him nothing but the best post UNT.

Yes, there must be some conspiracy here.

Like I said, very interesting that he refers specifically to JJ helping him, but refers to "my coaches" when referring to anything after that time period.

As I said before, it may just be the quotes Vito chose to use.

But it may not.

Yep. Whatever the truth is behind the coaching situation, it was still hard for Jordan to go through everything he has gone through here and stick it out.

Class act.

I've appreciated him so much ever since he first committed to UNT. Because when he committed, he really committed. He loved what he saw there, and he encouraged other top players to come. And, as the article mentions, his commitment to UNT after his career began stuck through some tough times.

All the best.
