No. The AD should for putting his head coach in a terrible position through very poor scheduling.

UNT had the easiest schedule this past year and won 4 games. This was his year to get all of his players ready, his chance to show how good his staff is.

Its all about wins and loses, no one should give any sympathy for a hard schedule... Really, UNT90 of all people, the fan who expects more out of this program and winning 4 games is okay to you?

If people want to say the schedule is the excuse, lets just go back to the Sun Belt or the Southland.

By North Texas standards, no. By any school that cares about athletics standards, he should have been gone after a momentum sucking season this last season and trending (once again) in the wrong direction. Most coaches get 3-4 years to build. After their recruits are in there are no more excuses.

When RV goes so goes DMac, Peterson, and Benford = Not a chance in Hell any of these coaches are gone after next season

5 games at home and two body bag games...no bye week in the season. He's gonna get a pass this year unless he wins 1 or 2 games.

This is where I sit, also.

What will be interesting to see is if RV uses his own inability to schedule football games as a reason not to fire DMac if we do go belly up this year.

I bet he does. That would just be oh so UNT.

Im getting a vibe that this is a throw away year. Probably been viewed that way for a while with the 2 body bags. The new DC, the jucos, then the way the cusa schedule looks, seems like we decided to take the hard schedule this year and the messed up bye week, so we can get an easier schedule next year. If we start slow, I hope we start preparing for 2016.

I agree. The team was already set up for failure. But then again I'm tired of North Texas excuses for losing every chance we get. It's getting old...

Welcome to the off-season.

I'm sure there will be about a dozen uniform/helmet threads between now and mid September (you know, when we finally start playing football) if you wish to partake.

We have a thread winner.

I'm not saying he should or shouldn't, but why would he get fired? Five wins would still be better than our average over the past decade, which is less than four wins per season including McCarney's triumphant, world-beating nine-win season.
