AHHH YEAH! It's Thursday, and around these parts, its trash day. No, I'm not talking about Toni Mitchells pro career here folks, I'm talking about the FA-WHO AWLs! The last team this team one a confrence game, Brian Williams was in the trenches during Benghazi. My dad told me to right that one - kills at pasta night. But seriously, we're red hot and ready to double our rhode records. You don't have to be Joe Loonardy to know this is a 4 bid league, so its time for us to go from spoilers to soilers.

Nice road win for the men. Voss had a big game as did Harris and Combs! Nice team effort tonight. Paid off with a nice win.

We have five regular season games left to win three to get to 15-15. Still possible to get there but I see the last three games being tougher games, especially with UTSA and UTEP being away games.

It's a pretty tough stretch. I'll be very pleasantly surprised if we can win 3 out of that 5.

But other than Marshall, we've been playing some decent ball since the USM loss. Nice win tonight, even though it probably should have been by a larger margin than it ended up.

Wow. Nice win. Sad that it didn't cross my mind until now that we had a game even though it's a Thursday night. Prior to this season, that hadn't happened to me in a decade or so. Now that we're winning a few, I'll probably remember the one this Saturday.

Was at an Oscar week event (hey, I'm in Los Angeles so cut me some slack), but it's awesome that we've won. I missed the last two games. Maybe me not listening in is good karma.

      DENTON, Texas – Sun Belt Conference regular season co-champion and tournament runner-up Arkansas State surrendered a game-winning shot with 1.1 seconds left in a 65-63 defeat at North Texas in the second round of the 2025 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Sunday evening. The No. 3 seed in the Dallas Region, the Red Wolves (25-11) competed in their fifth NIT all-time and first since 1991. Arkansas State’s 25 wins are the most in a season in program history. Junior forward and All-Sun Belt Third Team selection Izaiyah Nelson led four Red Wolves scorers in double figures with 16 points and 14 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season. Redshirt senior forward Kobe Julien added 15 points, while senior guard and All-Sun Belt First Team choice Taryn Todd scored all 12 of his points in the second half to go along with five assists to no turnovers, as junior guard Derrian Ford chipped in 10 points. North Texas (26-8) never trailed in the contest despite three ties including the final one at 63-all after a layup by Todd with 10 seconds remaining. The Mean Green held the final shot, as Jasper Floyd made a drive to the right of the basket, stopped, turned and sank a fadeaway jumper with one second left. Floyd and Latrell Jossell scored 18 points apiece to lead North Texas which shot 25-for-57 (.439) overall. Arkansas State shot 24-for-65 (.365) overall and 8-for-27 (.296) from 3-point range while owning a 30-26 scoring edge in the paint and a 12-3 advantage off turnovers.       Women Mean Green vs. UTA in NIT

      DENTON, Texas –The UT Arlington women's basketball team's 2024-25 campaign came to a close in the WNIT Second Round after falling 78-67 to North Texas inside The Super Pit on Monday night. The Lady Mavs close the season with an 18-14 overall record, the best win total since the 2021-22 season when UTA won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. In the Lady Mavs second ever WNIT Second Round game, UTA gave it a valiant effort, shooting 41.7-percent from both the floor and from deep, respectively. UTA had three players register double figures in points, led by Koi Love who finished with 20 points to go along with nine rebounds, five assists and two steals in 35 minutes. Taliyah Clark and Avery Brittingham both finished with 12 points apiece. Clark chipped in with six rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist in 31 minutes while Brittingham added five rebounds, three steals and one assist in 30 minutes. Brittingham also finished with a career-high six blocks. GAME NOTES UTA falls to 31-31 against the Mean Green and 14-14 in Denton in the all-time series. The Lady Mavs are now 2-5 all-time in the WNIT while falling to 0-2 in the second round of the tournament. The six blocks Brittingham finished with ties her for third most in a single game in program history, tying her with Rebekah VanDijk. UTA shot well from three-point range, knocking down five of 12 long range attempts. The Lady Mavs held the Eagles to only 37.5 percent shooting from the field. UTA put on a passing clinic, recording an assist on 60 percent of made baskets. The UTA defense forced 22 turnovers. The Lady Mavs were active in affecting shots on the defensive end, recording nine blocks as a team which ties their season high in a game this season. UTA was outrebounded 42-24.
