I believe Rice is a guard.

LT: Rentfro

LG: Rice

C: Kirby

RG: Epps

RT: Miles

Yes I was just projecting him at tackle because I think he's athletic enough to do it... I also like the idea of getting Ochs on the field next season as I think he's ready.

Mac spoke about them needing Micah Thompson to step it up this year. There are others I am interested in seeing this Spring. We need these young guys to step up and help us.

Don't we already have a center? Has something happened to Kirby? Also, when they were running the highlight films for the players Wednesday night, Ochs was playing center.

I could see Ochs play center here but you would have to move Kirby to guard.

Why are we talking about replacing Kirby at all? We can't project Ochs as his backup?

Just having some fun thinking about how the line will look that is all. I agree you would like to keep Kirby at his natural position. They didn't sign Ochs to sit the bench.

LT - Banogu/Rentfro

LG - Barr

C - Kirby

RG - Rice

RT - Miles

Guard will be really interesting. Rice started at SMU, so I think he's a good bet. And he's an offseason captain. Epps was highly touted out of high school, Micah Thompson (who Coach Mac specify mentioned the other day) has the talent and Ellard has also been in the two deep the last three years with Thompson. And Ochs is coming in from playing for one of the nation's best JUCO o-lines. But Creighton Barr is just the real deal to me, and enrolling early is going to give him a shot at staking claim to a spot. A lot of capable bodies. We'll see who steps up.

At tackle, Chris Miles had more D1 offers than any lineman we've signed since Coach Mccarney has been here. He always had the size, strength, and feet, but it looks like a redshirt year really did him well, as he looks much more svelte than he did in high school. Banogu looked good at times last year, and Rice has some experience. Really hoping this is the spring Trussell and Sorge show up big. A rotation at right tackle is very possible, like in 2012 with Feeley and Anyiam. Just like at guard, a lot of able bodies but someone has to rise above the competition.

It also wouldn't shock me to see them move Rhinehardt to OL.

The only problem with that is that if we move him, the only tight ends on our roster would either be seniors or true freshman. Even if Dillman and Kelvin Smith look good this year while redshirting or playing, I think getting a JUCO tight end is a very realistic possibility. But getting Reinhardt some experience this year could really pay dividends in 2016 after guys like Marcus Smith, Chris Loving, and Jarrod Lynn are gone.

Wow Billy, you think Barr steps right in ahead of Epps & Ochs?

Forgot about Banogu's reps last year. I definitely think he'll be a threat to start at RT with Miles, but I think Rentfro locks down LT. I hope Trussell & Thompson step up too. Would love quality depth at Tackle after Miles/Banogu/Rentfro.

I would worry about this year as well. Loving has not demonstrated anything outside of off-the-field issues. Once we get past Marcus, TE depth drops off severely.

Billy I share your optimism about Miles -- will be fun to see him battling but as a freshman that's a tough jump...

I struggled with Banogu and Rentfro-- Banogu played well last year and has really good size. He will certainly have a shot to play at tackle.

Reinhardt needs to produce this year at whatever position they put him at. He will be a redshirt sophomore and we need to start hearing his name. I think he is up for the challenge.

Again I think Ochs will find a spot on this line after reading more about him and watching his film.

We haven't mentioned him yet but I wonder where TrussBuss figures into things? Also anyone notice where his bro signed?

I think Rice is a good, serviceable guy but I don't think he has the length that Banogu and Miles do. They're only an inch taller, but just from looking at film and watching from the stands, it looks like they have longer arms. I think he'll at least be a rotational guy this year. We weren't able to land a JUCO OT so these are the guys we have.

I think very highly of Barr. If he doesn't start he can still obviously be a good player. But I love the way he pulls and the LG in our offense does a lot of that.

We do, but I think Rice would be an upgrade at that position. And I wouldn't be shocked to see it happen. Kirby had a very lackluster season.

I think we will have two O-lines, equally good, so what we will do is line up in a new formation called the MeanGreenPainTrain. Here is what it looks like

OT OG C OG OT

OT OG OG OT

TE

RB

Why not use our best assets?? :) Lots of Beef, and a Running Back.
