Andrew explanation of why this is a sign of Benford improving in 3...2...1...

He is 9-12. At this point improving will be difficult. .500 or higher and he will not have improved. We lost. We lose by 20 or by 5 we still lost. We hustled and the guys played well.

Man-to-man got us back in the game for Benford to switch to zone to lose the game down the stretch.

Also, 30+ seconds to go in the game and WKU called a TO with 12 seconds on the shot clock. So it's apparent Benford is choosing not to foul but then doesn't put our best rebounder in the game (combs) coming out of the WKU TO. WKU got 2 offensive rebounds on that possession that ended up being a score that all but sealed the game. I understand Combs isn't a shooter and we're down by 4, but we are choosing to play D and we had to have a rebound. This is nitpicking, I know, but bball is a nitpicked sport. If the small things aren't done right, you lose.

Still don't understand going back to zone when the situational game play was screaming to stick with man. Smh. Great game to watch though. And, again, Combs is going to be a stud. Staff has to get his FT% way up, hopefully the next staff can.
