Took in his game tonight against Grapevine Faith Christian(in Grapevine)

Triple-Double

41 points

25 rebounds (Est.)

12 blocks (Est.)

Still raw but should be a damn good player before his career is over at UNT. Of course its hard to judge a kid going up against smaller/bad competition but he has the tools to get much better. Looks like he's picked up about 15 pounds since I last saw him. (About 6-11, 240) Very nice left handed hook near the basket. Will probably be about a 68-70% foul shooter. Plays with his back to the basket. Good mobility up and down the court but seemed somewhat winded at times.

Hopefully we can find an impact Juco big man to start; so we want have to throw him to the wolves so soon.

Quiet night tonight against FW Christian (@ Arlington Pantego)

26 Pts

14 Rbs

5 blks

Its really hard watching this level of ball. Despite towering over his opponents, their guards still have a difficult time getting him the ball. You would expect a kid this size to dominate the game. He does not disappoint! The backboard rattles after each dunk. Really excited to see this kid develop over the next 4 years.

Lots of great academic schools outside of TAPPS (Division 1) Plano West has been ranked # 1 since last year and recruit with the best. If you want to know of other burbs that recruit , let me know. Hell, he'd be better off at neighboring Arlington Martin.

Completely agree. Whenever we were recruiting him I couldn't believe he was at PCA. I went to Arlington Martin, so I know the competition he's playing. As for academics, I did all AP classes at Arlington Martin and I feel like they could not have prepared me any better for college. Public school or not. Edited by BillySee58

Except he is actually receiving a better education to prepare him for real life.

Lets try and keep a perspective, shall we?

personally, I can't wait for the day when we're all talking about 13 and 14 year olds potential on National High School signing day.

Didn't PCA have a kid go to Kentucky and get drafted high in the last couple of years?

Yeah, I think the stigma that you have to go to private school to get a "good" education, a lot and I mean a lot of ones education is how much they want to learn and are willing to work. The biggest difference that I noticed, I went to private school, now teach in public, is the basis of what you're teaching comes from. Private, my school used Christian principles intertwined into science, readings, history etc, public school everything goes. Just my observation, not saying one is right or one is wrong, just what it was.

He is the hope of the future for UNT hoops.

I'm hoping 268 is accurate and it is muscle.

Both he and combs are the hope. We still have two more scholerships and we need another impact freshman at the 2 or 3 to build a solid young foundation.

The 7-1, 268 is someone's projection as he is not there yet. I think we need a muscular 6-8/6-9 JUCO PF/C for next year. We also need a SF that can score and play defense. Too bad Greg Wesley didn't work out because he could have helped at that position.

I don't know if Carrington Ward can play or not. I also thought Mohammed Ahmed was a better player than what he has shown.

Took the weight from the Texas Hoops site. Figured it was a bit... Optimistic.

How has Brice performed in AAU play?

Playing against the level of competition that he has been playing against leaves me worried he will be a huge liability on the defensive end while adjusting to a MUCH higher level of competition.

268 is all bones for this young man, he is a hell of a talent, don't get it mixed up. He has a TON of work to do in the weight room, eating wise because I am sure his metabolism is off the charts. Interested to see he, Harris, combs, and the atm transfer. Man talk about a group of talented kids.

He can play at this level, and will finish as a dominant cusa level player IMO if he stays healthy. ( see Ben Knox)

Do not forget TJ Taylor. If he chooses to return that is. We can hope though.

He held his own the only time I saw him in AAU play. (last year) He's bigger and better now. Of course he will not dominate right away in CUSA but he is ready for prime time. Don't know if you read the article but his goal is to be the best big man recruit in the history of the program. I can't disagree with that at this stage.

Did I miss something?

It was already posted earlier but apparently downplayed by people. If TJ wants to play next year he can as a grad student. It's just up to him. If he wants to he will and if he wants to go pro then he won't. This is the way I understand it.

Where is he getting the eligibility from?
