UNT has long wanted to build a pipeline to the Denton high schools that crank out major college football prospects by the dozen on an annual basis.

Those schools havent had major college basketball talent nearly as often. This year is the exception, and UNT may be looking to take advantage. Guyer senior guard Sean Choate has been one of the best players in Denton for years, has scored more than 1,000 points in his career and is one of the better 3-point shooters in the state.

UNT has noticed and begun recruiting the Wildcats senior. Here are his Hudl highlights.

But we also need guards without anger issues that can shoot over 30% from the field.

I'm all for signing him! I am also all for working with Deandre because the young man can straight hoop. This would give us two scholerships and we need at least one more post player. My guess is a JUCOS post player. Would have been nice to have signed Mason Riggens even if we was a bit undersized like Combs.

Watched him play earlier this year. Was "ok" athletically, but can shoot the ball no doubt. Guyer was down three with 5 seconds left inbounding on sideline and opponent doubled Choate. After one pass he was able to get the ball, hit a 3, get fouled, and hit free throw for a crazy ending to a game.

When is the last time this program had a great shooter? Calvin Watson? I mean really it has been few and far between and it has just killed us.

I'm confused by this. We're there not any great (as good or better) shooters after Calvin Watson during all of the conference championship appearances? Tony Mitchell was good. Tristan Thompson. Dominic Johnson. Josh white. A lack of shooting didn't seem to kill us around that time.
