This thread...wow.

Denton is Denton. I'm not an artsy person by any stretch of the imagination, but I like Denton. And although it's difficult to withstand corporate America from overtaking cities Denton has done a good job. Although, I'm not entirely opposed to corporate takeover. As far as Denton being a tiny town, it's not. As much as Dentonites want it to stay small it's not happening and there's nothing they or anyone else can do about it. Dallas is bleeding over into the burbs and that includes 30 miles north in Denton. Krum or Pilot Point are small towns with no real economic growth, Denton not so much. In 10 years the population has almost doubled and in 10 more the trend is looking at another double up. Pending your stance it can be a good or bad thing.

Maybe if I still lived in CO. :D

In N Out really is not a good burger. I mean, it's good when you're drunk or high, as suggested by oldguy, but that's about it. I'd take Kincaid's over it every day of the week, except for maybe Saturday where I'd treat myself to Rodeo Goat.

You can't compare $2 In N Out burgers to $10 Rodeo Goat. Tried RG in Dallas two weeks ago. It was good, but I was let down to be honest. There was very little beef in my nearly $10 burger. The meat did have a nice flavor though.

In and out is good fast food, but it's still fast food. Rodeo Goat is highly overrated.

Give me the original Fred's or the original Kincaids any day of the week. The branches that both these places have opened are disappointing.

About 20 years ago, when Harry first started to put together the printed newsletter that would eventually metamorph into gmg.com, if he could have seen a 9 page thread about zoning leading the board he would have scrapped the entire deal.

Of course if he could have seen the future he would have bought Apple stock and today we would be playing in Miers Stadium.

How is it that I name Kincaid's and say Rodeo Goat as an occasional treat and everyone focuses on the fact that I mention Rodeo Goat? lol. A Kincaid's junior cheeseburger is a 1/4 pound burger, same as an In-n-Out Double Double. I'd rather pay the extra $1.15 for the Kincaid's burger. For about the same price I'd prefer a Burgerhouse cheeseburger old fashion. For about the same price I'd prefer a Griff's Double Giant cheeseburger.

You can when you're desperate to bash something from California. I will admit that in-n-out disappoints me in Texas. The staff are comparatively poorly trained and hapless.

Not sure how thinking In-N-Out is average means I'm "desperate to bash something from California." There are plenty of great California only restaurants, In-N-Out just isn't one of them. And I work in the SGV.

Dude this turned into a food thread 6 pages ago.

Much like every conversation I have with Harry, it all, quickly I may add, turns to food.

I think a few people on here need to eat a little less fast food, drink a little less beer and maybe try a salad and water more often. Just trying to help you lead a healthier, more fulfilling life. You are welcome!

whoever gave me a -1 is probably bitter and has a dickey-do belly.

In-n-Out's fries taste like cardboard. Other fast-food chains have much better fries then that.

Truth. I have no idea how anyone thinks they're edible. I skip them everytime

It's because they're single frying fresh potatoes without removing any moisture from them. If you want good fries, you gotta suck a bunch of moisture out of the raw potatoes, fry once at about 120 degrees, then again at about 180. If I'm not mistaken, I think McDonald's, widely considered the gold standard of fast food fries, does the first fry at the central plant thingy place before freezing them for distribution. Then the store gives them the second fry and they some out golden and delicious.

If In-N-Out has well done fries (which they do), I wonder if you could instruct them to double fry. Probably wouldn't work out too much since their fryers are all at a consistent temperature.

Meanwhile, Five Guys is also cutting fresh potatoes on site, and their fries are amazing. I wonder how they do it.
