OK...not to take away at all from the main event, but we are thinking of adding a CORN HOLE contest to the Basketball Game event for the less "athletic" and/or "experienced" (see Older) or otherwise inclined folks.

Same fee...$25 per player (includes the super special classic t-shirt) and same date, time and place:

MARCH 8th

2:00PM

UNT Volleyball Gym

The game would be played as a bracket type contest crowing the one winner at the end of the event. May play with modified rules to move it along so we can get it done pretty much the same time (or before) the basketball game ends...but GMG.Com Corn Hole Championship is a possibility....

So, before we go too much further...any interest in this option in order to be part of this fun event and after-event celebration and awards ceremonty at Oak Street?

If there is enough interest, we will definitely set it up. MINIMUM EIGHT (8) players to make this work. Yes, more can sign up, but need minimum of 8 or it is a no go for this time.

So...any interest out there for this less-sweaty skills competition?

I'm scared to ask, but what's a 'corn hole.?

Also known as bags - game played with palm sized bean bags (presumably filled with corn) similar to washers. You've seen this played at tailgates.

Ha! I know...I know...I cringe when I hear it referred to as such, but it is what the game is known as to the vast majority of players. Like Adman said....just walk across any college tailgate area...or head to East Side in Denton...and you will see a lot of corn hole being played. Yes, yes...odd name for sure!

I find the name really offensive.

Not a fan myself, but not my call on the name. But, I guess I am not quite so easily offended. Guess we won't see you playing?

I thought we learned our lesson about scheduling UNT events to run at the same time as other UNT events...

Oh no......3....2....1....BOOM! This might just be a HOF post. Nicely played, Sir.

We'll give this a day or two more...if there remains absolutely ZERO interest we will scrap the idea of holding this additional activity for those wishing to help in some manner but would rather not play in the game itself.

If you are interested...please sign-up soon. If we don't get eight...after sign-ups, we will just have to re-evaluate and see if we can do it with the number who do sign up, but surely there are at least eight folks willing to vie for the 1st Annual GMG.Com Corn Hole Championship.

Well, it appears there is ZERO interest in adding this skills contest for the event. Thought it might get a few folks who don't want to actually play basketball for whatever reason a chance to participate this year. You know...bragging rights as being the very first GoMeanGreen.Com bag toss (or whatever you want to call it) champion. Alas...not so much.

So, I will nix this if at least 6 (yes...only six now) do not sign up for this event by this coming Wednesday, Feb. 4th. So, if there is any interest at all, please use this thread to let me know. If you have questions you can PM me.

Maybe if you changed the name to NTbags ? I'd invite my wife to play NTbags but not....nevermind.

yep...I am sure that's the reason..... Ha!
