Possible replacements for Georgio Poll

Here's another possibility -- you could move Hank to play by play and bring in a beloved former player/coach for color. I have heard other schools that do this, Baylor for instance...SMU did it for awhile. And I have no idea if he would be interested but would love to see former coach Chuck Mills considered. It's not his profession but man this guy is entertaining and would bring a great historical perspective. Former player and coach at UNT. He's also a fan, I see him at all of the games and functions.

Interesting idea, but with all the alumni we have doing play by play work i personally would prefer one of them. I voted for Dave Barnett, but I doubt it would work. I hadn't thought of Brian Briscoe in ages!

Yup, I voted for him but it's highly unrealistic. Maybe during Football season only but he's the best of the group for sure.

Mark Followill does regional FB as it is through I want to say ESPN or Fox Sports college football. Plus his Mavs gig is really good so he is definitely out of the question.

Dave Barnett was the one who I immediately thought of but I voted for Sean Bass. I think he has the same UNT passion that George does.

@espn_macmahon: Congrats to George Dunham on a great run as the voice of the Mean Green. North Texas alum @tedemrich would be a tremendous replacement.

Gosh, it just occured to me that unless North Texas wins the NCAA tournament, George Dunham's last game will be that of a loss. I guess he shouild have retired after a football season.

I'm wondering this too. He's leading the voting here by quite a margin. I myself voted for Barnett. Haven't heard him call a b-ball game before, but I've heard him call a UNT FB game, and it was fantastic.

I like the realist tone you get with Sean...anti-Dave South. But come to think of it, I am not sure I have heard him do actual play by play. Sideline work and Diamond Talk provide more analysis than description but I think he is capable and qualified.

With today being his last game, anyone think differently. I personally think Dave is going to get it. He's been on the broadcast a couple times since George announced his retirement.
