6:48 to go

We just cannot play worth anything in the second half. Even in most of the games we've won, we've played poor in the 2nd.

Does Benford still have the team run a full practice before the games? Maybe that's why they get gassed in the 2nd half?

UNT90, you would take any Benford quote and twist it to fit your agenda. I am not a fan of Benford. I think he is the career assistant that just isn't cut out to be a head coach. I was actually excited when we hired him based on the national media's assessment with some even saying he was a better hire than Brown at SMU, but he has been a disaster. All that aside, his quote from last night is really not the uncommon. He isn't deflecting blame. When he says, "We were very undisciplined in the second half and lost our poise. That's on me," He is taking responsibility. When he says, "We had some guys who were selfish, you can't ...." he is placing blame on those players, not shifting blame to them. He took responsibility for what he could control.

Funny how those 2 comments are back to back, isn't it. The way people say things is a window to their thought process.

And I guess you have completely forgotten how both Bemford and RV blamed the players for Benford's disaster of a first year.

I think if anyone else had posted what I posted, you wouldn't have disagreed.

I have no idea what happens at half time but maybe we can get teams to agree to stop the game after the first half? If you just take the first half of every game this season we would probably be a top 2 or 3 team in our conference. Add in the second half and you see where we have landed. Maybe it's better to not even go into the locker room and just keep the team on the court shooting around and scrimmaging.

You know what you call a good first-half team? 7-9.

It's sad, but you still gotta take everything good we did in the thirst halve and then bottle it up for the next 1. I'm not liddy to giev up bc half of something is 50 persons of a nguyen, baby!

No, I clearly remember what Benford and RV had to say. I also would have reacted the same way if someone else had posted it. Again, I am not a fan of Benford. I think he should have been replaced after last year and is in way over his head, but I will not place blame that is not warranted. Back to Benford, it makes me wonder what he learned from the head coaches he served under all those years. Apparently, not much.

I hear similar statements all the time.

"Officer, I know I'm not supposed to hit my wife and that it's against the law. She just gets under my skin sometimes"

Clearly no intended relationship between the two statements, right?
