I would take him in a nano second. That would be an instant recruiting magnet just like the SMU HC acquisition. Heupel would actually know how to develop a QB and run plays that would actually work instead of running a WR screen play 12 times a game.

I don't know they ran a lot WR screens at OU too. He would be an upgrade, but I don't hold him in high regard as you do.

I hold him in higher regard than I do Chico. This offense has been a joke for 3 straight years.

Yes, last year was great but the offense could of done 10 times better if the play calling was better in my opinion.

Chico's QB development worries me more than X-and-Os.

I assume you know that we didn't look at him, seeing that we don't have an OC opening at the time.

But Utah State is likely better funded than NORTH TEXAS. HC makes more at NT but AD and first assistant make more at UTAH STATE.

USU has ~20 listed on its coaching staff, including GA's. We are closer to 15.

USU plays its in-state "elites" regularly, and beats them fairly often. I would equate them to Texas Tech more than North Texas: only game in town, great media coverage, excellent campus setting, community pride.

I would be thrilled if North Texas achieved Utah State's market place, community value and pertinence in college football's hierarchy.

So much sadness in this post.

At least their AD makes more. He deserves it.

Utah State Annual Football budget: $6.2 Million

North Texas Annual Football budget: $7.3 Million

Utah State Full Time Football Coaches:10

North Texas Full Time Football Coaches: 10

NCAA only allows 10 Full Time Football Coaches. 1 HC and 9 Assistants.

Only UNT fans whine and bitch when a coach isn't hired even though we have a full staff.

I think he might have PAC12 member Utah confused with MWC member Utah State. The MWC income is pretty similar to CUSA payouts, and lets not forget we dominated them when were both members of the SBC.

If we are now at the point where the mighty USU program is so far and above us that it's an Icarian folly to even dream about reaching their lofty heights then we might as well call up the Southland.
