.....paid for by tax dollars,.....

Even after Mack Brown resigned in December 2013 halfway through the fiscal year the University of Texas will pay him a buyout totaling to $2.75 million over four years, according to the Austin American Statesman.

Isn't this a bit misleading? I was always under the impression that donors kicked in the money for a lot of these huge contracts, as well as for the buyouts?

Did you listen to the audio behind this link ? The person speaking said that the salaries paid Texas coaches was funded by taxpayers.

After I heard that, I questioned the entire thing.

It is my understand that only a part is ..... but just a certain base as is the deal with all "profs". Above that is money that is not tax money but some other sources... athletic donations, radio/TV programs, ticket money, etc. .
