This morning's DR-C has a Bret Vito story about Bruce Chambers being fired at Texas. He played here and spent 14 seasons at Dallas Carter winning 13 district titles. Chambers joined Mack Browns staff in 1998. Therefore, a national championship ring.

Does NT have a need of an experienced coach with an obvious Mean Green tie ?

Chambers & Koennig were underperforming in recruiting according to Burnt Orange Nation. Don't know if we want him, our recruiting has been bad enough.

Yeah, too many 3 and 4 star recruits and not enough 5. We certainly don't want that kind of trash recruiting for us.

I'd rather hold off on another offensive hire. Chico's entering the last year of his contract and if the program's QB of next season & beyond doesn't emerge in '15, I expect Mac to allow him to find his next Philip Rivers elsewhere. If an OC change is possible next offseason, I'd like that to include a great deal of staff flexibility.

I say hell yea we get him if we can. He probably has a relationship with way more high school staff than our guys do. He's been at the state's largest university for 16+ years for crying out loud and was the recruiting coordinator. Texas has not had a problem recruiting talent. They've had a problem developing that talent.
