Let's see, I remember raising $78 million a couple of years back, then there was an additional $3 million we just raised for an indoor practice facility and I think it was announced that we are in the middle of raising an additional $3 million for baseball, but hey, congrats to UTSA, all they need is another $80 million to approach what UNT has raised in the last few years.

After looking at some of their facilities, or lack thereof, they need to raise a lot more than $4 million.

If depending on a few students to sell the other students on raising student fees qualifies as "raising $78 million" then every other Texas school that has a dedicated student service fee for athletics can claim to have an awesome fundraising arm of their athletic department (yet still better than ours, given that their fees are higher).

Financing $78m is not raising $78m. If you just signed a $100,000 home mortgage, would you brag to anyone that you just raised $100,000.

I'll give him the basketball facility, that was all fundraising. https://giving.unt.edu/content/donor-funds-allow-unt-athletics-open-basketball-practice-facility

The committee raised more than $3 million in gifts in 30 days for the basketball training facility, a state-of-the-art scoreboard in the UNT Coliseum and scholarships.

3 million in thirty days looks a little more impressive than 4 million in an entire year.
